Curious to see the results of this poll so please post so we can compare. I notice most of the pros on fulltiltpoker are playing omaha rather then hold em.

Omaha has always been a hot game. Been playing Omaha longer than hold em.

Omaha is a riot, but no way will it overtake hold 'emOmaha is a blast though, especially if you play it with a hold em mentality, lol :club:

The reason omaha is so awesome is because most online players are absolutely terrible at it, even to the point of not knowing the rules in some cases.

Omaha keeps getting more and more popular but is still nowhere close to NLH.

Omaha is a great cash game, but not the best tournament game. PLO is best played super deep stacked, which is really hard to do in a tournament setting. Its no suprise the pros are playing every cash game BUT Holdem. Who wants to play NLHE tournaments 12 months out of the year and then go sit in a Holdem cash game? Also, its general knowledge that Omaha is one of the biggest "action" games out there.

Omaha is better, but is more complicated and is rarely played as a no limit game. Everyone wants to think less and go all in so I'd be suprised if omaha ever passes hold'em.

Yes but they need to implement some higher buy-in rebuys. A nighty 22, 33, or 55r would be awesome.

Your bankroll is bigger than mine, but I sure wish they had the $10 PLO rebuy every night.

Maybe in a pros world, Omaha would be king. But considering just the sheer popularity of Texas Hold 'Em, I really doubt it will catch on to the majorty of amatuers. I think back to Mike Caro, when he said "One thing poker players hate is change". Although he was refering to the introudction of 4 color decks, I think it also applies. You go to a home game at a bar, replace NLH with Omaha, you'll have a riot. It's much to complicated for non-regular players. Then again, for a while 5 card draw and stud were the games of choice, these days, pfft. I think I've done 5 card stud once, and I wasn't even sure about the rules. As far draw...eh.So, who knows. Personally, I think as long as the WSOP Main Event is decided by Hold 'Em, and with all the TV shows, the sole exception being a couple on ESPN being Hold 'Em, Omaha can't overtake it.

10 years ago you could not find hold em in a card room it was Omaha, Omaha8/b(most often) and stud. Holdem was a very select game and was almost dead in card rooms.

It's not going to "take out" holdem but I can already tell it's getting a lot more popular. Our cash games at our house are almost always requested to be Omaha. It's more action but more that that it's a lot more skill, and we LOVe to play Omaha with hold'em players.
