InsanityCubed 0
Phil Gordon mentioned the 50% deal during the FT broadcast. Doesn't really surprise me that he's backing out of it though, $6 mil seems a lot bigger when you're writing someone a check for it.This source is very reliable, BTW. HappyG 0
I suppose it was to the actor guy, for covering Jamie's ***. Could be wrong though. I'm hearing more and more negative stuff about Gold.it won't stop either. once stories like these get leaked, it'll keep piling on and on and on, and eventually, someone will either take him out or he'll fold under the pressure and kill himself.or go to a psych ward. InsanityCubed 0
i cant figure out who he promissed half his winnings to and why, anyone know?Bodog paid his buyin, in exchange for Gold getting a celebrity to wear Bodog merchandise. Gold couldn't pull this off on his own, so he enlisted help. He promised the people (person?) who helped 50% of his winnings, and apparently promised Chan 10%. He had no clue he'd end up winning, so it probably seemed like a harmless promise to him. Now he's taking steps to avoid having to pay the 50%. IMO, Gold is just another example of a person so far removed from reality that he has no clue how to behave in a situation that would seem standard to many others. 50% is a pretty standard backer agreement, AFAIK, so he really shouldn't have a problem with it, but he's a greedy fucker. offset 0
I read through the article three times and all I caught was that he says he will be giving ten percent to Johnny chan and then half to his friend. Nothing about this seems unusual. Am I missing something?

grocery_mony 9
going out and a limb and say that this will not get him killed. there deffinatly seemed to be something weird going on with this guy the last couple of days. why would phil gordon go out of his way to say this guy didnt have a backing deal during the broadcast? he made a deal and is gonna weasel out of it(i guess anyone who doesnt get anything in writing from an agent should have known). very douchey but it is not expected coming from a world class douchebag. this guy has absolutely no marketabilty like previous champs and hopefully he just goes away but not before donking off a pile of his money.
