SB posts a blind of $0.25. 3 folds, Hero raises to $1.5, 1 fold, BB raises to $2.5, Hero calls $1.Flop: ($5.25) 4 , T , 5 (2 players)BB bets $0.5, Hero raises to $4, BB calls $3.50.Turn: ($13.25) A (2 players)BB checks, Hero bets $10, BB calls $10.River: ($33.25) 8 (2 players)BB checks, Hero bets $15I seem to have trouble with river value betting. I get too greedy and overbet in a lot of situations where I would get a call by a worse hand with a smaller bet. I reduce my opponents calling range so much that my bet becomes -EV.On the river here, I am fairly certain I have the best hand but theres still a lot of hands I'm behind to. After he fails to check/raise the turn and checks the river I think the flush can be discounted a little bit. I think his most likely hand is a big ace.On the river he has about $40 left. What is the right amount to bet? Or do we check behind? If we do bet, what do we do if he check/raises?
subsin 0
id say bet out about $20, if he re-raises then you get monster odds to call, even if you may be beat

trystero 0
subsin about covered it - you bet your hand strongly throughout but maybe could've bet $5 more on the river (though I stick with the $15).
fckthis 0
15 is good, but 17.50 seems like the best bet for value.
tallytownFSU 0
15 is good, but 17.50 seems like the best bet for value.I really like 17.28 for the SUPREME bet of value.sw

DonkSlayer 1
I'm not terribly confident you're ahead in this situation. I'd probably check behind b/c I'm a wuss.
