Donkbet/CR/call/fold are actually all viable options on this hand. NL is fun, huh? Mostly depends on your read of the villain and your image.If we just call in this spot, I prefer donkbetting most turns. When you call the flop, it's probably going to freeze him if he doesn't have a king. What happens then is that the turn checks through, and he gets a free card. Also, the pot stays smaller so he can more easily call you down on the river with a pair (assuming you bet it). Thefore, if you're going to call here and check the turn (and he checks), you should probably check/call the river fairly frequently.

NL is ridiculous.I frickin love it.I've almost tripled my BR in 4 nights at $50 NL.

Let me add that if I'm feeling aggressive, I'll usually check-raise this. If I'm feeling particularly passive (opponent likely has me beat and isn't going anywhere), I'll check/fold. If I'm still feeling things out, I don't mind calling to see what the turn brings. (I'm not often taking the flop donkbet approach...I usually dislike that line against pre-flop raisers.)

Well, from SS2, the donk lead is to be used when you have flopped significant strength.Obviously if we do that every time, it'll be very clear, but that would be why we donk it in other situations as well.I tend to do it very very rarely as well, as it sorta rubs me the wrong way from my LHE days.

I completely agree. You are varying your play based on how your opponnent plays. In this situation if i have the opponent as say a 30/ 20/ 3 then im check raising. If I have him as 10/ 2/ .5 then im folding. If I have him as an avg type opponent I might just call and see how the turn plays. Unfortuantly, as in the op's hand, he had no stats/ reads on the player. Also, its not always mouse or taz you are up against so that makes things fun too. Just the fact that this little situation has so many options, based on the actions preflop, your position, your opponents position (where he's raising from), your chips, his chips, blah blah blah, makes this such a great game.OP, gl on your continued win streak, but keep in mind that the simple fact you can take this great swing up, also means there is inevitable varience in nl getting stacked to beats and oversets that makes a good size down swing too. OP, gl on your continued win streak, but keep in mind that the simple fact you can take this great swing up, also means there is inevitable varience in nl getting stacked to beats and oversets that makes a good size down swing too. I only say this b/c sometimes I get my biggest losses after my biggest wins, and I dont wish that upon anyone. GL at the tables.

I flat call and go from there. I'm not trying to bloat the pot with a raise when I have a measly pair of 7s. The only exception is maybe a CR on the flop, as I think you'll have a large amount of folding equity on the flop, as opposed to the turn and river.If you raise the flop and he calls, I'm probably giving up the hand to any good sized bet after that.I'll also add, I'm probably not going much farther in the hand if another broadway card shows up.
