Hero wins $9.10. sorry for the boring post. the question is : in an earlier post, with an ace out there, but just a flop call from the BB, he probably didn't have an ace. is that right to assume?btw, with the turn bet, i am more committed to the pot, so i can lose more, but i am trying to make it expensive for him to try to catch whatever it is that can beat me. and since i have position, i could (in theory) fold to a huge river bet. is any of this logical/plausible?

Um, yeah.Was there a question here, or were you just showing us a boring NL hand where you folded a missed flush draw with a horrible turn bet?

Looks alright... Who ever knows with a hand like that and an ace on the flop, but against one caller you're good most of the time.What I never understand is why people will call a flop bet, most likely looking for a flush... if not then they're retarded... but then folding to a bet on the turn that isn't very much larger. Know what I mean? If you're gonna throw your money away, why give up? lol.Not that I'm complaining... just wonder why people do that.

Just my opinion... but I think you're asking for trouble after firing shell number 2. You've made yourself much more committed to the pot by firing out the 2 bucks on the turn... and this is exactly how people over-extending themselves in pots with marginal holdings. I'm aware JJ is a premium hand, but with the ace out there and all kinds of nasty set and two pair cards and huckle draws I might have advocated checking the turn through.This is what makes 99-JJ such difficult post-flop hands. So much depends on the texture of the flop, opponents, stacks, et cetera that it's easy to broke quickly by overplaying your hand. What if he check-raises the turn, or calls the turn and comes out shooting on the Ks river? It's just my opinion, and obviously betting it worked out for you, but I believe that 2 dollar bet in that spot will cost you more than it will make you. I'd have checked the turn and check-called the river.
