blinds are either 300 600 or 400 800 i cant remember with a 50 or 75 ante
with 10 players at the table. I am in the big blind
with A J of clubs. It gets folded around to the button who makes it 2025 to go.
I call. Flop is J 8 6 rainbow. I check and he checks. turn is a 4. I bet 4k and
and the button raises it to 10100. I think about going all in but instead i call.
Button has me covered in chips by a lot. I had about 34k to begin the hand.
River is a Q. I check and button bets 7500. I call.

First, stack sizes would be good.
Second, this is very read dependant. It's possible he saw your flop check as weakness and his turn raise was just to pick it up. I'm assuming he had AQ or KQ based on the title of the post, which makes it apparent that the turn push was in order. Nothing like results-based thinking, though.

Its very rarely a good idea to check TPTK on the flop. I think you should of made a good bet here about 3/4 the size of the pot.
I've known hexidecimal since before I was A.

I don't think you played the hand poorly..Were probably going for a c/r on the flop and he checked behind, w/e..If you had a read that he was aggressive and thought he would c/b, fine, i like it...The only thing I would do differently is jam the turn after he raises..Other than that, NH

reads would help you here, a ton.
I'm ok with your play given his dominating stack and the fact you have an Ace to cover some over card outs and the board is pretty dry.
I'm suspicious of his flop check and would not jam the turn against all villains.
More and more I'm assesing these situations as such: Can I woop this table with one hand behind my back? Yes. Ok, then I"ll keep this pot small.
that's probably more applicable to STT"s though

re-raise PF
how much?
with AJ OOP? against a huge stack
so you're hoping to resteal, or is this for value
are you done if you miss the flop?

No read on the button?
Unless you know hes a rock I would re-raise pre-flop. Theres a good chance hes stealing, and if not youve still got a solid hand that isnt horrible to play OOP.
Lead the flop. This is not the time for a c/r if thats what you were thinking. Either he was stealing and probably has nothing good to bet into you or he has two overcards which should be content to see the turn. If he hit one of the lower cards you may get a bet out of him but he should fold to your raise anyway, and worse...why give him free cards.
His raise on the turn looks like it has to be two overcards or a slow played set, with many more overcard possibilities than sets, so I agree you have to call.
The Q is a horrible card. Now most of his overcard holdings have you beat and theres still the slow played hands out there. I fold here.

I dunno, probably like to 7500 total. Button coulda be raising with a lot so we need to see if he really has a hand. More of a re-steal, condiering most hands calling us have us beat whether its AQ+ or a pair. If he calls, fire out like 10000 on the flop, regardless
