nomad_monad 0
passive play is the new fastplay.weird turn donkbet. call's probably good. river is too good of a price not to call.
mikeysong 0
do that many people usually call a raise?I'd start raising 4x or 5x short handed. And yes, it does make a difference to raise 4x rather than 3xI have no idea wth he has. I call down like you did. Although he did bet 1/3 the pot on the turn, which is the same as you giving him 4:1 odds to call if a flush hits so maybe raise 30-40 more on the turn and see a free river to find out wth he has?course that commits u to call an all in i think
CobaltBlue 662
do that many people usually call a raise?Nah. Raises usually took the blinds or only got one caller or two. It was somewhat unusual to pick up this many. I used to open-raise more pre-flop (3.5x to 4x), and I certainly go back to that given specific opponents, but I've dropped to a 3x standard. My understanding is that the more you trust your post-flop play, the smaller you can make the pre-flop raises. That said, I'm not sure that I could ever get to Goehring-esque (2x). fckthis 0
What read does the donk bet give you? Seems like a weak attempt at shutting you down.

Scott3705 0
That's so close between being a draw and being a weird set, that I think this line is fine. You may not be charging a draw, but you really have very little chance of getting away from this if you raise. How much are you willing to call on the river if a spade hits tho? CobaltBlue 662
How much are you willing to call on the river if a spade hits tho?Not much. And, you guys are right...something about this donkbet rubbed me as a blocking bet with some sort of draw. That said, I'm not sure that I can raise it given the stacks.
Mattnxtc 0
i actually like how you played thisyou dont have a big hand but just a good hand..so no need to cause a big pot when you dont have any redraws...
iggymcfly 0
Actually, despite the title, I'd play this differently. The donkbet on the turn SCREAMS draw so loud, I think I'd have to jack it up. I'd say this is a draw about 80% of the time against an average player. Anyway, I'd probably raise it to $35 on the turn, and then if he calls, you can go ahead and check behind the river since you're only getting called by JT or T8.

Not quite sure why he bet the river after making a pair. I guess another blocking bet?

For some reason though, after reading that article and raising when I saw it after I ran into a set/2pair 7/11 times. (Yes I started counting). I agree it's usually a draw, i just have gotten sorta shell shocked fromt his move.
