Smiddywap 0
Hey folks, here's a hand I botched from a recent tourney. Help plz. This hand was from the first level of the event so we all had close to the starting stack of 5000. Since the hand was so early in the event I hadn't seen the other players in a significant hand. Memory is a bit foggy, bet amounts are approximate.Blinds 25/25Hero in SB with 99.Many fold, MP raises to 75. More fold, LP calls. One fold, Hero calls. BB folds.Flop: AT9 rainbowHero checks. MP bets 150. LP calls. Hero calls.Turn: 7 (no flush draw)Hero checks. MP bets 450. LP raises 1000 to go. Hero calls. MP folds.River: 6Hero checks. LP bets 3000. Hero folds. mjd 0
That's a coordinated flop with two broadway and two other players. Get your chips in there. And, if you're going to slowplay the flop, you need to raise or fold the turn. Only J8, 68, AA and TT beat you. I might tend to push.-M

SavageHenry 0
the turn in my experience like above posters have said is where you want to end the festivities. playing it soft on the flop is fine though fast playing a set is ok too and often gets all the money anyways. Willenation 0
Push the turn, but realize that the river doesn't change anything. Villian doesn't have that 8. Either he's losing to you with two pair or an overplayed top pair, or he's got you beat with a set. Just because there's 4 to a straight doesn't mean he's got it.
