Question For Muslims

Recommended Posts

I'm a newb to this, but what do the "good Muslims" have to say about the current Israel/Lebanon/Hezbollah war? Is there some reason to this? Which is it, US media making it seem like all Muslims want to evaporate Israel, or is it just extremists and what % are they of all Muslims, American and otherwise? Thanks for opinions

I'm not a Muslim, but I would bet you that most Muslims would be pretty offended by you referring to them as "good Muslims." That's like calling a Catholic "one of the good ones" (the bad ones being the molester-priests and mafia hitmen).

Cry me a river. Seriously. Catholics don't have near the problems Muslims do. Ironic that you answered the question with something that pretty much substantiated the OP's reasoning behind the question.

Yeah you're right, it's cool to discriminate against Muslims.

Huh? I don't get it.

I know.My take was that the OP's question was driven by the seeming lack of criticism of and by the Muslim community about the violent extremism/facism that is seriously denting the image of Islam. Your response was exactly what he was talking about. If you think he was misguided, a well thought-out refute would've been better instead of "I know you are but what am I."

He asked for responses from Muslims. Thus, I can't give a guided, well-thought out response which would satisfy him. I don't see what the problem is with me pointing out that his post may be offensive to many Muslims.

Frankly, I'm offended that you think there's any parallel between them and Catholics. js

Thanks, that was exactly what I was getting at, sorry to others it wasn't more clear. I still haven't seen any examples of this, and I've watched quite a bit of tv coverage

Its not about religion down there. Its not about Muslims vs Jews. Its about "dont take my land", or "don't bomb my people". Take away the religions, or even replace them, it doesnt matter, these people are always going to have conflict.

Nope- it's about hatred for jews which starts about, oh, when they killed Christ and God said that they would be persecuted forever. They WERE the chosen people, and blew it. This doesn't mean I condone the persecution of jews, just that I realize that it is inevitable.

LOL, thanks Adolf.
He is not being Adolf, just stating something that appears to be prevelant throughout history. Several times throughtout history the Jews have been the aim of several genocide attempts. There are several groups that have sworn to not rest until Israel is destroyed.
