It's been awhile since I posted in here but usually I post after our weekly home game and I haven't gone in awhile. Anyway here's the deal we have a $20 buy in we had 7 guys play but we let one guy back in for your twenty dollars we give 25 dollars in chips and we start blinds at .25/.50. Oh yeah and we only pay the top 2 unless there is 9 or more people.So I had a pretty good night and it gets down to me and my friend. So usually the chipleader at the time gets to make the rules. Sometimes it is late and if you have more chips you might offer to take $100 and give the other guy $60. At this point I had about $140 tourney chips and he had about $60. So I tell him here's the deal I take $80 now and you take $60 and we play for the other $20, because I am trying to work on my HU game.He agrees and first hand I am SB and blinds are at 2/4. I get dealt K6 of clubs. I figure hey let's raise and see where I'm at. I say 12 total. He then says all in. He is normally a pretty tight passive player but he can change gears well but his normal game is Tight Passive.So what do you do? Do you call and try to take him out or try to get your chips in a better sopt?Thanks in advance.

What exactly are your starting chip stacks for HU play, $140 to $60? If so I fold here.

When I am head's up with a huge chip lead, as you are here, I prefer to push the action, and not react to it...he told you he has a hand, so fold.I expect to see something like a pocket pair, Ax or Kx (with x being a better kicker than yours 8 times out of 12)...in all these cases you are way behind, so why double him up?

okay awesome I acutally did fold there but I was wondering all night if i shoulda just taken a chance with it. He had QJ so i was only a slight favorite to win the hand. But I didn't want Results Oriented feeling overwhelming what I thought was a good laydown.

Yeah, a slight favorite, but you definitely don't want to be staring down at a big king there or 66+. No reason to be so frisky this early.

Folding was the correct play. You wanted to practice your Heads Up game anyway and gambling with K6 clubs is not a good way to start. Unless you want to learn how to deal with a blown chip leader and make a comeback.Yeah, you had him beat at the time, but it's about a coin flip. It was the correct lay down as the only hands you could really beat were QJ and lower, and even then its about even money.So, how'd you end up doing?

K6 is a decent hand for a raise, but I wouldn't call off all the chips with it. If you were to push to his raise with it, that's fine, but I'd fold and look for a better spot.

fold easily. You cant be a huge favourite against anything but lower kings. Most hands dominate you or put you on a slight coinflip.

Actually ended up blowing the chip lead when i pushed with K8s on a board of 852 to be called with A8. Then a couple of bluffs got caught and then had it all in with A2s and got called by AQo...oops.I am still pretty unimpressed with my HU play.
