Which is why I'm playing .25/.50 and not posting any project threads. I'm just killing time while the nicotine leaves my system. If it seems in chat like I'd like to hit someone in the head with an aluminum baseball bat, I'm pretty sure it's the withdrawl talking.

You been trying to quit since Dec. 22? :D Seriously though, good luck with that. My dad who's now 55, had been smoking for 40 years, and quit three months ago, and hasn't had one since. He read a book, honestly, that claims to have a success rate somewhere near 60%. Who knows, may be BS, but it worked for him.mp

Good luck. It's always a joy to hear of a person beating a substance's hold on him. (I dunno if this post sounds sarcastic, it isn't intended to.)

good luck smash. my dad had been smoking since 18 and unsuccessfully quit twice (first time for a few weeks, second time for seven months or so), but finally quit around five years ago (when he was about 40) and hasn't touched a cigarette once.i remember when i was a kid, i used to take his packs and flush them down the toilet in order to "encourage" him to quit smoking, haha. his sincere regret of smoking is also the reason i've never touched a cigarette. so sincerely, good luck quitting. use the patch or the gum if it helps, i think my dad used the patch on the final attempt.aseem

ahhhhh.I hated the gum. I'd chew the hell out of it and go to sleep with a sore jaw. Atleast the patch just made me itch. I guess you have to try them both...

reducing the nicotine isn't the answer. gotta get it out of your system. your body will react the same way once it's gone, whether it was a large amout or small.'The Easy Way to Stop Smoking' by Allen Carr.

I'm far too lazy to be bothered with either one.I figure I'll just walk around Harvard Square and yell at passerby.

I've been on the patch since the beginning of the year. I started with the nicoderm CQ, but a friend of mine had me try the walgreens brand and it's soooo much better. Just moved down in milligrams and am sweatin it a bit, but I'm 36 and started smoking when I was 11, so it's definitely time to quit!It also helped my poker game, as I no longer run outside for a smoke after the blinds pass me, I can actually play late position now! lolGood luck smash!
