Yep, you'll see a lot of that at those stakes. Odds? Meh!

It's lucky, but not as dumb as you make it out to be.
Any Q will give him a straight and an Ace might win him the pot, so he figures he has 7 outs.
Then the turn shows another spade and now he suddenly has a straight draw AND the nut flush draw, so he's correct to proceed. A long shot, but the turn made it easier.
Then he hits his flush and it's exit with your simple 1 pair.
I'm more concerned with your betting... on the flop, he could have been slowplaying JQ or maybe he had Ax diamond and was drawing for the nut flush. So even though there is a possible straight & a possible flush, you still believed your kings were untouchable?

Terrible beat......but you gotta check-jam the flop there if you think your ahead. For a low stakes NLHE game, that is a scary board. If they have QJ OR a set - good luck to 'em.

I don't think it would have mattered considering that the players aren't really playing for much money. Some donks would have called any bet. That's just my opinion, though.
I find it a little funny that many of the bad beat posters play for low stakes.
