No, and there's simple evidence to prove that it wasn't.

Meh, it comes down to whether you to trust the governemnt (lol). No doubt the motive was there. Our enemies, the russians, were beating us in the space race. First man made satellite in earth's orbit, first man in space, first man to orbit the earth, first space walk, yada yada. They were beating us. A staged moon mission would allow a flood of money to NASA and dishearten the Russians, especially when as hard as they tried, they couldn't find a way to get man to the moon.

The way I undersatnd it, the main debate is over the Van Allen Radiation Belts. To some researchers, there is too much radiation through this area for any human to pass through without immediate health complications, if not death. The government says no, that's not the case. And as you can see, the astronauts are all fine as far as we can tell. So which is it?

That, coupled with the film footage that shows one of the astronaut's actually faking how far away from the Earth they truly were by attempting to make the Earth seem much smaller than it really was.

im not trying to be annoying, its a pre concieved idea in peoples heads that im a ******.

anyways the evidence that people give to prove that it was rigged is bull crap.
people say things like "the flag was moving so that means there was wind, so its fake". the flag was moving because of the motion created by the stabbing down of the flag pole. the motion was the lack of gravity, so the flag kept wavering.

the one thing that gets me though is that they said he was the first man on the moon. if thats the case then who was there filming him take the first steps?

I'm probably one of the most paranoid conspiracy researchers on this site. That said, I believe that the moon landings were real. However, what did we find on the moon that stopped us from coming back???????

You're aware that they landed on the moon a total of six times, right?

if i recall there is a peice of equipment that was put on the moon by our astronaughts(sp?) that can reflect lasers or something to get information. that proves that we were there and i think that might be what LLY was talking about.

http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/SEhe...polloLaser.html

We put a reflector on the moon. Astronomers all around the world use it to determine the distance to the moon.

QED

This is a good experiment, though. I urge you all to read through all of the stuff that proves how we didn’t land on the moon. Since you now know that we for sure did, you’ll learn how easy it is to come up with a bunch of BS that sounds true and is somewhat convincing. Just remember that if one wants to disprove the moon landing, they have to disprove all the evidence against it, not just some.

You seriously want to know? I'll have to look for it, but as soon as the Russians annouced they would be able to monitor US moon missions they stopped; abruptly.

FAQ at http://216.26.168.193/moonmovie/default.asp?ID=8

QUOTE
Q: Wouldn't the Russians find out and then tell the world?

A: This is another, very logical, yet superficial question. After thinking about it for some time, I believe that one of the major reasons for faking the moon missions was to fool the Soviets about US strategic and space capability during the height of the Cold War (like a bluff in poker.) In addition, the Soviets did not have the capability to track deep spacecraft until late in 1972, immediately after which, the last three Apollo missions were abruptly cancelled.

Even if the Russians did suspect the landings were not authentic, the act of calling us liars of this magnitude at the height of the Cold War could have instigated a war, and perhaps they thought it better not to chance that.

QUOTE
Q: How could the scientists of the world be fooled?

A: When scientists fail to require independent duplication of such an outlandish claim after over 30 years have passed, science is degraded to the status of being just another religion. They claim to have gone 240,000 miles in 1969. However, since 1972 no one has gone more than 400 miles from the Earth. This is a case of the scientists of the world not doing their jobs and otherwise being caught asleep at the wheel.

The leading scientists today who say that the Van Allen Radiation Belt is not lethal (who were generally in preschool at the time of the first alleged moon landing) do so by the following deduction: "The Apollo astronauts went through the radiation belt on their way to the moon and survived, so it must not be lethal." They are, of course, assuming that the missions were authentic, when, in fact, they were not. The leading scientists are wrong. Has this ever historically happened?

I was never a fan of moon skepticism, but this clip is not explained away.
