Naismith 0
Let me know where my mistakes are here. dimseven 0
Fold preflop utg unless You're sure You can at least get it heads up and You are good postflop.Since You didn't, 3bet the turn.SInce You didn't, raise the river.I'm thinking You put him on A-A given how You played. If he has AA or 66, so be it, but I really think he had AK or something of that sort.
Zach6668 513
Hi.Fold preflop.Check/fold the flop.Raise/Cap the turn.Raise/Cap the river.Good luck.
DonkSlayer 1
Why is this fold preflop?I understand why not raising is the way to go, but on sh limit tables where you are almost certain to be called/raised at least twice, why not play this hand?
Naismith 0
I haven't played much limit in a while. Do we fold small pocket pairs more often in limit? In NL, I almost always play them for set value and the ability to stack someone, but in limit, should I be playing them like I would a short stack in a tournament (i.e., mucking early, aggressive in late)? Also, what can we put the villain on here? Jas0nkiiiim 0
i think you should limp/call preflop with small pairs so that the other players in the table can join in...by doing that you get better pot odds when you hit your set and better chance of being called down to the river with more players involved....just my 2 cents

The thing is, we want to either go heads up or more than 5 handed for set value. As for villian's hand, he could be doing this with AA but I'd think A-K and A-Q is possible also. You also want to 3bet to charge SB 2 BBs when it gets draw heavy on the turn. Why is this fold preflop?I understand why not raising is the way to go, but on sh limit tables where you are almost certain to be called/raised at least twice, why not play this hand? It's not +EV in this situation... see abovei think you should limp/call preflop with small pairs so that the other players in the table can join in...by doing that you get better pot odds when you hit your set and better chance of being called down to the river with more players involved....just my 2 centsY'all should pick up Theory of Poker. Zach6668 513
Yeah, Dimseven answers all the questions. At a full table, you could limp this, assuming it's loose/passive enough, but 5 handed, you will not get the action you need.
dimseven 0
And limping SH sucks!

Naismith 0
Hey, thanks for all of the responses.A fellow FCP-member sent me this hand. He was the villain in this scenario and had AA. The hero was some random player that got off pretty cheaply, I think, with a set. Having limited knowledge of limit, I wasn't sure if this was played well be the hero or not. I think I would've lost a bigger pot, but haven't played limit in so long, I don't know. The villain in this asked me a few hands later if he should be playing 44 UTG, so I figured I'd post it here and see what the experts had to say. roadhawg 0
thats a weird way to play AA with that board, because he should not check twice. i hope your friend isnt the type of player who plays it that way and is then mad when someone outdraws on him.
jayboogie 0
I usually raise PF with any pair 5 handed. I'd prefere to take it down uncontested PF, but if I get the BB to call me, thats not so bad, I'm ahead of any non pair hand and have position.
