...there's no way the Islanders actually hired Garth Snow as their GM right? Dale's just kidding, they would never actually do that...
...TSN.ca, looking around *HOLY SHIT IT'S NOT A JOKE!!!*
...WTF?
Seriously, WTF? You don't give that job to a guy who wasn't even retired from professional hockey yesterday. You don't give that job to a guy with absolutely no front office experience whatsoever.
Charles Wang has lost his fucking mind.

I was on hockeybuzz.com and saw three updates claiming this. I thought someone hacked into their site and was screwing around. Seriously.

Wang came out with the typical politically correct explanation claiming that Smith didn't really share the same gameplan or some BS. I've heard Smith and Lafontaine were butting heads.
Garth Snow
I can just see the other GMs around the league scratching their head and talking to themself..."so if I want to offer a proposal for an Islanders player I call Garth Snow? Really? Garth Snow the goalie? The guy with the gigantic jersey? That Garth Snow? Really? He's the Islanders GM?"

Okay, maybe he wasn't butting heads with Lafontaine.
