I have trouble with JJ-1010, to a raise as well, but more in my SNG game. I think your play is fine here.

i'd re-raise this pf more oftne than calling..but not everytime...

flop play is pretty standard there..

should i be playing this strictly for set value after the raise?

not JJ...

I agree that I'm reraising this more times than I'm calling. Shed reraising probably 95% of the time. Full... it will really depend on player and the table. For the 5% I'm calling, this line is standard.

ok good to know the flop doesn't suck

Flop:

MP bets $2, Hero raises to $8, MP calls $6

Turn

2 icon_suit_heart.gif

MP checks, Hero...

should we be weary of the flop call? or do we continue betting?

this is where it depends on the player...ive played in weak/tight enough games where this will be QQ/KK/AA and he slows down on the flop and turn, but will check/call down for his entire stack...

but it also could be AQ/AK/AT/AJ type hands that calls a flop..

i think a check behind on the turn has to be because you are putting him on an overpair or a set that he wants to check/raise...in that case i dont mind a check...

most of the time though..maybe more so at 25nl, you need to bet.

This is ok. I think a better option would be to reraise pf though.

Having played it this way, I think you need to bet around 3/4 to the pot on the turn.

I've seen many times at 25nl that people will call after having their CB raised on the flop, just to see if they can pick up a pair/draw...

like i said, 3/4-pot sized bet on the turn

i ended up betting the full size of the pot on the turn because that was just enough to put me all in.
