I dont question calling the 400 raise in a 5 way with the two chipleaders in the hand.
For the 36 hands at this table, I won the two showdowns i was in, and folded to big bets. My table image is pretty tight. Thats why I didn't lead out on the flop...figured I'd have an almost guaranteed check raise opportunity with 5 in. When I got a bet an a raise, well on a rainbow flop, even with the staight draw, I am happy. I made it 5k..leaving me with less than 4k. I was hoping the re-raiser had JJ- AA or an unlikely smaller set. Well you see what happened so here are my questions:
Do I lead out on the flop?
Do I check raise all in instead of raising to 5k?
I am pretty confident I made the right moves here, but I really want others prespective.
Thanks Again.

I don't like the raise to 5k on the flop. After a raise and a re-raise I like going all-in here. You have top set, but your hand could be vulnerable. Plus after the raise and re-raise it's very likely that you could be getting paid off by a lower set or overpair. It doesn't really matter though b/c you didn't play it that badly and the donkey with 77 is probably gonna call you anyway. You got beat by runner runner, it happens in poker. Like I said though, raise more on the flop. You're basically min-riaisng here, which in general is a TERRIBLE play IMO.

Well that's not fun. I guess he had 10 outs with one card to come, and figured let's go, he knew he f-ed up and the 8 definitely helped him call them all off. You really can't play this differently. You obviously know this, but I'm sure posting it here will help you channel the massive influx of negative emotions you're feeling.
btw, have any experience with turbo sit and gos? ::cough::

nice...yes... and if you have played one with me in the last week that was <$10 Im sure you have had a laugh. I was tryin a different approach...but it only worked twice so thats over.
As far as this hand goes...Im thinking I may have played it a little fast. If I lead out and let the Aces raise...I possibly eliminate the 77 and check call the Aces all in on the turn.

With 5 players, I'm not a big fan of checking this flop. I think the idea is to thin the herd somewhat here. I'm probably pushing the flop here and hoping for a call from the AA-JJ hands. 77 most likely goes away there with the push, and if he doesn't, well, you really want that call most of the time.
With that said, I don't think you played it badly, poop sometimes happens in poker. GG, better luck next time.

Bad Beat Forum is down below.
You got all your chips in as the favorite and villain sucked out on you - you played it fine and that's poker.
In the future don't post results as you'll end up with results based or biased analysis. You get will much better comments that way

Didn't read replies- a couple of thoughts. First don't post results, it colors the results you get. PReflop- I lke calling with smal or medium pairs. On the flop- I would bet out here- check raising got you a larger pot, but it was plenty big already. When you get a bet and a raise comeing back to you, $5000 is too small. These people think they have the best hand. You need to push here.
What you are hoping they have is what they do have (since you posted results) which is overpairs. Make them pay to play. You are in the lead now, and they can not get away from their hands.
Bad luck really, but a big reraise on the flop may have got the guy with the 7's to lay down. By the turn he picked up the staight draw and was probably committed to the hand.
Different subject- I love having the chip leader at my table in the mid stages of a tournament. On low buyin tournaments often times the big chip stacks are guys who have overplayed marginal hands and had them stand up. They tend to play too many pots, and are my target to get chips. It is much easier to get chips out of a big stack then a bunch of small or medium stacks. Plus the potential chips you can get out of chip heavy table is far greater then out of a skinny chip table.
