I just wanted to see if someone else would point them out to me. I hadn't been at the table long, but from what I saw I think he would have called even if i bet the flop...

Yeah, definitely bet the flop, odds are he'll fold.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Betting the flop is pretty much mandatory here. Two pair isn't a hand to slow play. Especially with a potential flush draw. Heck, even a check raise after the flop might have been good depending on your reads as most loose players play Ax and would bet here. I couldn't imagine someone calling 2 bets cold without even two overcards or a decent draw. Ok, I take that back, he still might have called.

I'm totally on board with these comments. If you expect someone will bet based on past experience with these players, check-raise; if you're not sure, bet out. Even if you do get some crazies calling two bets cold after your check-raise, you're just getting more value into the pot when you're almost certainly ahead. Can't ask for more than that.
