Hey all, I have just cashed in 5 straight $3 tournies on Stars and was thinking about moving out to Vegas to give it a go.

No, seriously though, my company has finally approved me working from home so I am thinking about making my home somewhere other than here (Atlanta). I make the pilgrimage about 5-6 times a year so I am somewhat familiar with the general areas, but not in the lifestyle sense.

I know Summerlin is one of the nicer areas, but what are other nice areas and areas to stay away from as well. I can afford a townhouse/condo in the mid 100's (if there is such a thing anymore). I don't mind getting an apartment, but really wouldn't want to spend >800 on a 1 bedroom. I'd take a $500 loft/studio if it was available in a good area.

Thanks a bunch everyone.

If you want a nice place in Vegas, you need the $.

Good places to live are west of the strip, and in Henderson.

Bad areas are east and north of the strip.

But if you are not willing to spend $800 on a one bedrooom apartment, I suggest you stay in Atlanta.

The "average" cost for a older condo in LV is $200K obviously this doesn't take into account the newer condo high-rises near the strip that start in the high $500K's for a single bedroom.

Win a few more sng's before you make the jump, I know a few people that made the move because of jobs/housing prices etc. just to go broke playing at the casinos. The best kept secret in Vegas is: "if you live in Vegas don't gamble in Vegas."

GL if you do move there, just remember to play within your means.

Thanks guys...sorry if you didn't get my sarcasm about the poker. I am sure I would play more live than I do now, but I do not play any other casino games so hopefully I wouldn't pick up any bad habits.

Thought I had done a little research and the apt. prices were not out of the ballpark for there. I found several places in Summerlin/Henderson right around that price range, but obviously the majority of them were a bit higher. Is it safe to say any place in Summerlin/Henderson is better than any place east/north of the strip?
