You bastard. It was in the Stars $10 rebuy, and the one dude was being a real jerk.

Goals, eh?I want to stop being so lazy...I'm playing fulltime for the summer, 50K hands for the month should not be a problem and yet it will almost certainly be a huge struggle.NLHE: Keep doing well and learning, have the BR/skills to start taking shots at 10/20 at the end of the month, maybe even move up for goodLHE: Start playing regularly again and re-dedicate myself to getting good at this game, start playing some 30/60 so I can prep myself for eventual shots at the high limitsOther: Spend a little time on other games, start playing live once I turn 21

My main goal is to be able to play 2/4 NLHE comfortably. I had the same goal last month but basically broke even.To those who are playing 2/4 NL or higher. How tough was the transition from 1/2 to 2/4 NL say $4500 to $9000 BR.
Give me a paper and pen so I can write about my life of sin. A couple bottles of gin in case I don't get in.

One goal that I forgot to add is to take a few shots at 5/10 NL. Never been up there before, though I don't think it's beyond comprehension since I got to 30/60 LHE at one point. As for the transition to 1/2 to 2/4, it can be tough. Personally, I've gone through it three times. I took shots at it over a year ago when I didn't understand BR management. I only played a few times and did okay, but I couldn't stomach losing $400 in one hand. I took another shot in December and did okay, but I hit another rough patch and dropped back down again. By spring, I was regularly playing 2/4 and 3/6, but over the past few weeks, my roll took a "hit" (partly withdrawals and partly losses) and I rebuilt a bunch at 1/2. I'll cautiously say that I'm back to 2/4 for good. I will say that it becomes progressively easier the more times you go through it.

Since January I made a promise to myself to practice proper BR management and move up and down accordingly. Well I haven't had to move down I just keep moving up after 25 buyins. 25NL to 50NL cake in a month, 50NL to 100NL cake 2 months, 100NL to 200NL cake 2 months, now this is this first month all year I didn't show a profit. And this whole month i played 200NL.Prior to this year I would cash out weekly or every two weeks and never kept for than $500 online. This is my first rodeo.

Just wanted to post an early update and say that things are going great so far. I'm already almost 40% of the way to my main goal as I'm up $3800 the last 3 days playing primarily 2/4 NLHE. (You could basically attribute all my wins to NL cash games, since the PLO wins and SnG losses cancel out at this point.)I think that now that I'm more mature, the NLHE cash games should be a gold mine, as it's the game where I have far and away the most developed skill set. Losses due to tilting were the only things that kept me from solidly beating NL cash games in the past.
Lady luck's my fuck-buddy.

My goal for the month is to increase by BR from ~$2100 to $3000 so I can start playing the $100 SnG's on Party. I only play in tournaments, either the $50 SnG's and the occasional MTT in the $20-$50 range. I had a lot of success in June so I want to keep going strong. I only play part time (<10 hours/week) so I can't play 15K hands like the rest of you degenerates... :club:

Well, I haven't played many hands since today was the first day I've been sober since canada day, but my month is going great so far. I made $600 playing NL for about an hour on Canada Day, and made 2.2k playing limit for an hour for the first time in weeks today. The weird thing is that I am now much more terrified when I play limit as opposed to no limit. When I play nl, I feel like I can't lose unless I get very unlucky. When I play limit I feel like unless I immediately end my session when I'm up a bit, variance will quickly bring me down.

I want to start winning at 3/6 again also.I play 2/4 and 3/6 evenly at absolute (2 of each when available), and the player base is almost identical. After roughly 7k hands at 2/4, im about 5BB/100.After roughly 7k hands at 3/6, im almost exactly break even.Probably the best and worst streak ive had over that many hands happening concurrently.

what's 2-4 nl like? Can you just play the nuts or do you actually have to get in there and mix it up?

A TAG game will still work against default opponents. However, there are some trickier/LAGgier opponents where you should step out a bit and pull some strong semi-bluffs/bluffs in big pots where you wouldn't at lower stakes. Also, opponents aren't quite as willing to go broke with just a pair. So yeah, play gets a little fancier. Still though, it's all about picking your spots and opponents.
