Can anyone guess what UTG has in this hand?Limit hold'em game, $.5/1 on Full Tilt Poker. I'm dealt J
7
on the BB. UTG (a good player) raises, everyone else folds to me - I decide, why not take a chance and call a small bet. Flop comes: 4
A
J
. I check, UTG bets, I raise for the free card, he calls. Turn is J
. I bet, he raises, I 3-bet, he caps, I call. River is 9
. I check, he bets, I raise, he 3-bets, I call. Final pot size: $17.25. One of us takes it ..

I am still wondering what "I raise for a free card" means.

He's got KJ.There's no reason to post this hand when you lose it, only when someone overplays trips and you make a flush on the river to beat them.

I am still wondering what "I raise for a free card" means. He has a flush draw in position, he's raising hoping the turn gets checked and he gets to see the river card for free if he misses the flush.

he's not in position. He's in the BB and the PF raiser is utg. so it would be impossible for him to raise for a free card as his check on the turn still has the PF raiser to act behind himWell, less likely, not impossible.I missed that he had checked first.
