As a rule I generally call 1 bet in early position w/ low pairs, but I'm wondering if I'm loosing value doing that? Are the odds + implied odds going to be big enough to justify that single bet call there? or should I look at getting rid of 2's, 3's, and 4's, UTG or UTG+1 or 2?

I prefer limping with low PP (55-22 in my opinion) to me having a low PP in EP, is kinda like a suited connector, you just wanna limp to try and see a cheap flop hoping to hit

I like small pocket pairs (Even in limit) myself, as when you hit, you're usually golden. So yeah, I'll call one bet with them.

If you're parcticing good game selection then you will be getting the 5-1 you need for the small pairs-without being raised too often.

not sure this works the same in limit or not as I really don't have enough experience in limit, but in No Limit i am hoping to limp in early or middle with the small/smallish pairs and hope (yes hope!) that someone makes a standard raise behind me (one or two callers even better!). I'll call any standard raise and then if I hit the set, I'll bet into the raiser and this many many times will result in a double-up. If I don't hit the set, I can sometimes pick up a small pot (a necessity in NL to keep things going and project the right table image).low pocket pairs in early are my favorite hands (in NL).

lol no it doesn't work in limit. In limit you play anythig 22-99 for trips. Some argue 22-88, but I treat 99 and really TT the same, too. Hell, some days JJ and QQ.So from EP I'll usually limp one (I don't have the time to guess how many are calling behind me) and I usually get the odds. From button I might raise just to loosen the table up a little and build a pot.
Suddenly I turned around
And she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists
And flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully
And took my crown of thorns.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Newbie here. Can you explain how to determine that you need 5-1?Thanks.
