Another MIT frat game - not another winning night for me. The game was NL 100, the players incredibly aggressive and loose with bets and raises (calling $10 with 10 high resulted in a split in one pot). Anyway, I was about even with my buyin when this monster hand and Mr. Akishore did me in.I'm dealt 4 5 suited in mid position, 6 handed game. Two limpers in front of me, so I decide to limp also. Flop comes down A 5 4. Aseem in the big blind (I believe) checks, I check, the button bets $5, Aseem calls, I raise to $20. Button folds, Aseems thinks for a long time and raises me $30 more. I know I should've folded, considering that Aseem probably had a set or better two pair, but I had just seen him fast play a set of 77's in a previous hand, check raising all in on the flop against KK. Also, the game was incredibly loose, even though Aseem wasn't, and I thought it was possible that he was slowplaying AK preflop and wanted to prevent a straight draw. In any case, these arguments don't really justify my all in at this point, since when he called it I knew I was beat (he had Ace 5). At least the money is going to a good player. Any thoughts on this hand, other than that I was playing like a donkey?

ha, sorry Yang. in hindsight, i feel like i played the hand terribly. the board was suited if i remember, and there was an evident straight draw, and i had a very vulnerable hand. i'm not sure if there might have been a pre-flop raise from the button (he was an aggressive player, he's the one i check-raised with my set of 7's because i knew he'd bet his overpair into the ragged board), but if there was a pre-flop raise, why would i call with A5, a likely dominated hand?at least a checkraise might have been fine, but i check-called, effectively slowplaying a vulnerable hand on a terrible board. it was really fortunate for me that you checkraised your bottom two, giving me a chance to isolate and push, but i really feel that i played the hand terribly. i think you just got unlucky, and i think you played the hand fine. calling me was questionable since i effectively check-raised YOU, but other than that, i think it was just an unlucky hand for you.aseem

actually, i've still been thinking a lot about that hand where you had AJ. i never told you, but i had the straight on the river too (all you needed was a J), but i really felt like you had AJ and had me beat with a higher straight, and i didn't want to pay you off.i had QJs, and i called your pre-flop raise out of position from the big blind, i think (probably a bad play, too, but oh well). flop came K-Q-x, i think, and i bet out (or checkraised you, don't remember), and you called. turn came a 9, and i checked (a bad play i think, since you didn't raise me on the flop, i had to figure you missed the king or only hit the queen, in whcih case i might be able to push you off with aggression) and you checked i think. river came a 10 (also a flush was now possible), giving me a straight, and i made a weak bet, which you raised aggressively. i read you for AJ, but i actually folded because a flush would also beat me.interesting hand, i think you played the hand well given that i tended to play aggressively post-flop.aseem

Hey do your games include a guy named evan t.
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change
And when I need to free my mind
I can find, satisfaction in a bag of weed
Everything I need, leave it to the trees
It can make me feel better, and every day I wake
Niggas rollin' up blunts, and mo blunts, and mo blunts
And I keep a case of Swisher Sweets in the trunk
So when I'm rollin', smokin', chokin', just floatin
And when I need to free my mind
