Now that school's out, I've decided to move up from 5/10 6max to 10/20 6max in my effort to be able to TP/MM by the time I graduate college (3 more years, provided my career in academia doesn't decline past where it is now). Anyway, I've got a 20k BR and was able to consistently beat 5/10 for 1.7/100. So I suppose the point of this post is just that I'm looking for anyone with more experience than I to offer me some insight into the differences between 5/10 and 10/20. From the couple days of experience I've had so far, it honestly feels like the donkeys are greater in number and more ridiculous at 10/20, though that just feels like a ridiculous thing to say. Anyway, back to the tables and thanks for any advice in advance - I'll probably start posting 10/20 hands in the near future.

10/20 is not very different from 5/10. you'll have around the same number of donkeys, but you will occasionally run across a very lag/tricky game that may look very soft at first (so perhaps watch your games for a bit before sitting) but there should always be alternatives to those tables assuming you're playing at party.
but yeah, generally, no difference at all.

If there are two things LHE players like, they are weed and pornography. The third would be kittens. LHE does not appear on the list.

That may be why it feels like there are more fish, though in the time it took me to type this sentence I've been in 3 5- or 6-handed pots. Also, for reference, I'm playing on Stars - I'd love to play on Party, but they don't take Firepay, and Netteller won't give me an account unless I go to a social security office and fax them some form, which is a lot of effort.

I've found 10/20 to be pretty similiar to 5/10 on Stars. If you can beat 5/10, you should have no problem with 10/20.

i've never played ring games other than LO8 for any extended period on stars, but i can say with about 15k hands of certainty that party's 10/20 6max games are generally laughably bad--sometimes you can find an average pot of 200 dollars, even on the shorthanded tables.
