If Poker is going to grow as a sport and continue to grow on TV - then the producers have to stop wasting everyone's time in explaining how to play everytime poker is on TV! Do they explain the rules of Football before every Monday night game? Do they explain the rules of Baseball before the World Series? NO and NO.There is no reason to go through the rules of the game every episode of the WPT, Poker Superstars and so on....
why explain how to play texas hold'em every time!?

it takes 2 minutes to do it... and trust me there are always people out there that do not know. it is the format that is being used, whether it's just a time filler, or if it educates the new person, it's just something that you'll have to deal with.I Tivo, so I just skip forward through it.

Because of its new found popularity I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands of people who have never seen the show or don't know the proper way to play Texas Hold 'Em. It does only take a minute or two and who knows it might interest people enough to open online accounts so we can take their money:)

Poker is still very much in a "learning phase" for a lot of people, so the basic rules need to be repeated so viewers seeing poker for the first time can get a grip on the game. As television gets more content rich, we will get to the point where we will have an icon for newbies to hit called "The Basic Rules" and hopefully an icon called "What really happened" that gives expert commentary on key hands.flintsword

The best is Lon McHaren or whatever on ESPN always gets the transition into the explaination....ie "Raymer just showed you need to bluff to win in No Limit Texas Hold'em.....Here is how you play No Limit Texas Hold'em" Everytime there is transition.Anyway, I think it is really annoying as well, but if more fish learn, the better!
