a 8 offsuit, always a loser?

So I don't usually play really loosely, in fact I pretty much limit myself to the top three levels of Sklensky's Chart, but I will play A 8 offsuit almost everytime. But everytime I play it I lose, and we are talking about 124 losses in a row, what are the odds of that?

Pretty good. Only, only, only play Ax if it's suited. Otherwise, throw it away.

Moral: Don't play A8o. Trash hand. With this type of hand, you really don't even know what you want. 8 flops, now what? You probably don't have top pair. Ace flops, now what? You probably are going to get outkicked. So essentially you're hoping for trips or a 2 pair. Small chance.Really. Just fold these hands.

sklansky describes it best. when you play weak aces, one of the following situations will occur:1. you miss completely.2. you flop TPTK with an 8-high board. given the nature of cards, this will probably invite some kind of straight draw, and any overcard on the turn and/or river will leave you not knowing where you are in the hand anymore, since many people call flops with overcards.3. you flop top pair with an ace-high flop. what happens then? if you get aggressive, you'll only get action when you're outkicked, otherwise you pick up a small, unwanted pot with top pair.all three of these situations suck. so, don't play any ace below A-10. even six-handed, i won't play A-9.aseem
