Hero has AdAh on the button and raises, sb 3-bets, hero caps

No real read on the sb, seems kinda like an average player for what I've seen.

FLOP: 3 5 6 all diamonds

sb checks, hero bets, sb calls

TURN: 2c

sb checks, hero bets, sb raises, hero?

Ok so what's the best play here? Calldown? 3-bet? Call, raise river? What's the plan for the rest of the hand assuming a missed flush? Any other opinions on the hand are cool too.

Given that you have the Ad, it's pretty unlikely he has a flush. He probably has an overpair worse than yours, with or without a diamond. If he doesn't have a diamond, you may not get paid off on a bad river card. 3-bet.

I was a little brain dead last night after misreading the action with Aces on another hand which led me to lose a big pot. Of course when I do something so stupid, that leads me to analyze every hand I played for the session and I was looking for something that was perhaps debatable on this hand, but it's really not. This is a pretty easy 3-bet against just about anyone. The end result wasn't pretty of course as I was 3-bet out of the sb by 84 offsuit and of course my flush doesn't get there and his straight takes it down.

why 3bet this turn? the only hands i can see sb playing like this that you're still ahead of are hands like 77,88 99....probably with a diamond to go along with it. More often than not he'll have the straight here, and occasionally he will have some B.S. flush. Wouldnt just calling here and again on the river (if your flush misses) be a better line? You cost yourself less when you're behind and allow him to bluff a hand which he thinks is best on the river.

ummm how about KK, QQ and on down? Maybe even KQ with the King of diamonds may try something like this. These are the hand ranges that get into my head of course. A4 or 44 I would also think are possible, but it's hard for me to think that it's likely. 84 offsuit is also always possible, but again impossible for me to even really think about him having that. My cap PF doesn't always mean that much, I may do this with a variety of hands to mix into my play. The cap PF is not always a monster.
