Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is BB with 8 :D , 7 :D . 4 folds, Hero checks.Flop: (2.50 SB) 3 :) , T :club: , J :) (2 players)Hero bets, Hero calls.I bet hoping to just pick up the pot, but know that if I am called I have a gut shot and a backdoor flush to cushion me.Turn: (3.25 BB) 2 :club: (2 players)Hero checks, CO bets, Hero folds.Easy fold.Final Pot: 4.25 BBIs the flop bet too loose? It would have been better if I had JTc and the flop was 378 because I have overcards to go with my hand...

Is the flop bet too loose?A little, mainly because the pot is miniscule.Plus, you miss out on the massive joy of someone with JJ checking behind you to set up a slowplay and letting you hit a 9 on the turn for free. You have to cherish those moments.

I would.Sometimes a gutshot is just a gutshot.
