[Rounder v2]

I’ve just come back from a short break from poker and the only reliable game I got going right now is with some friends that are classified as fish. Lately I have not been getting very good cards, and when I tried to bluff one in a recent game with 4 spades on the board the guy that was in the hand with me called with a pair of queens. Afterward I said, “You weren’t scared of the 4 spades on board?" and he said, "Oh, I didn’t even see the 4 spades". Needless to say I haven’t been doing as well as I’d like to in these games. What should I change in my game to get better results play fish when the cards are in the freezer? -Thanks To Everyone That Responds, And To FCP

What should I change in my game to get better results play fish when the cards are in the freezer?Perhaps you shouldn't try to bluff bad players who will pay you off when you do have good hands?These things go hand in hand. If you have a made flush with 4 spades on the board he's going to call you with QQ. If you have nothing and bet into him...he's going to call you with QQ.Be more patient.

couldn't agree more. Bluffing at low limit (at least online micro limit) doesn't usually work well enough to have +EV in my experience. Semi bluffing can pay off well but outright bluffing doesn't do much good knowing that you will usually get called down with bottom pair or whatever.

Show them monster hands repeatedly, time after time. Only once they see you playing with nut hands repeatedly can you start bluffing them out, before then theyll call anything.

nor did I say you cant outplay them, I said fish will call any bet at any time, so if you have cold cards, they will call your bluff about 90% of the time

You don't have to wait until (edit: you) have the nuts. Just be aggressive with any semi-solid hand. Bet big on each card and they'll call you down. It's pretty straightfoward and simple.
