custom36 5
So, I did one of those free money things so I could make the switch to Party Poker and get my share of the dead money that I hear is over there. I got on there and I find it kinda difficult to adjust. There are people here that will call with nothing. Example:$25 NL Hold'em cash game. I get AKo on the button and make it 0.75 to go. 2 callers. Flop comes x-J-x. Checked to me and I bet out $1 to try to steal (stupid move, yes, but that's not the point). They both call. Turn is a rag and it's checked to me, I check. River comes a 10, ep bets, mp calls, I fold. One turns over 10-7 offsuit, the other turns over Q-10 offsuit. Is this the norm at party poker? I'm not used to play like this - how do I adjust properly to it? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
KDawgCometh 2
I play limit, but really its almost all the same in a way. You need to basically play ABC poker and play pot odds. Play hands according to the odds your getting. Trust me you'll suffer some horrendous beats that will make ou want to choke the life out of the nearest living person or animal
HtotheNootch 0
Yeah and you'll also win some monster pots when you have the nuts and people won't go away no matter how much you raise.
slappy110 0
ive played online for about a year now and have been stricly party poker...i've seen some of the most unbelieveable beats you can imagine (actually, im sure everyone on this forum can imagine it as they have probably experienced them themselves from playing online). While i find that what you guys are saying to be completely accurate, that people will stay in with the most unbelieveable trash...my question is, is it different elsewhere? i mean is there really a 3/6 game where you don't have 4 people in the showdown? flyingmoose 0
Yesterday I withdrew 300 from UB and deposited it at Party, and I've been building up a roll there. I'm up 8 buy-ins in 2 days, and I've only been playing at about 60%; I honestly don't even see how I'm up at all with some of the moves I've been making. The thing I had forgotten about Party is that nobody can let go of big pairs --yet everybody slowplays them. Yum Yum! You definitely win way more from aces than with aces on PP.
