Daniel, i dont think the player of the point system is very fair. U got 1440 points for winning the Borgata Poker Open this year, and David pham got the same amount of points for a event that wasnt a main event, and the buy-in was much lower. If i was in charge of the point system u would still be in the lead because wpt main events should be worth more points than the tournaments leading up to them.

Interesting. Alot of different sites, Phil's and Bluff Magazine, Card Player etc, they all have their calculations that are slightly different.... some are based on buy-in and # of players etc, others are base strictly on final table placement etc....

I think they're going to change the POY award starting next year. They have already refined the formula reguarding buy-in and # of players. I think the next logical step is to account for how many tournaments each player enters. For example, someone who enters 20 tournaments and wins 3 should recieve some sort of penalty as opposed to someone who enters 10 tournaments and wins 3. Basically, the more tournaments you enter, the more you must win in order to gain a lot of points. This would allow people who enter less tournaments but win a higher percentage of them to win POY.
