Jordan 1
My June so far on one poker site. By far the sickest sickest sickest short run variance i've ever experienced. And I've played a lot of short handed. I had one real "donk" session (noted) and the rest I think I played my best. I honeslty made 1.2k in 10 minutes, and then got anal raped for the remainder of the session to the most bizarre stuff. So insane. I wasn't being a bully, or stupid, just playing my hands to the best I could...lool.Point of this? I don't know. I just finished class and came home and said I was going to destroy people. The quick 1.2k was nice (even though I almost got 5 outered for a full buy in pot but had nice resuckage on river), but as quick as it came, as quick as it went. That's..well..i can't remember ever winning 3 buy ins so quicky and dropping 2 right after on the same table.Point * 2...Have a bankroll, please. Especially as you move up. I've noticed slight increases in skill, but it's rare. It still is sick. Some of the good players you know are really beating the game cause well you just know, others you know are big donators. I have > 40 buy ins for this limit, but I think if I only had 15-20 I'd go nuts. Oh yea, last thing. My $400 hand I lost w QQ, I made the thinest value bet of my life into this guy I knew was a good player and I put on TT or JJ. I later figured out he was a poster here, but rarely posts...he even hooked me up with rakeback to this site..so that was a bit more than embarrassing to donk off. Quite funny though. All said, I'm up like $200, or half a buy in on this site now. LooooooooooooooooooL. Sick, sick, sick. This kinda made me want to throw up some. Oh well.Enough of my ramblings..I don't know why anyone would even care about any of this...Goodness. I'm going to sleep (oh and if you read, go from bottom to top).- Jordan6/08/06$400 NL 6Max -- Appaloosa Start: 10:30amEnd: 11:23amProfit: $158Hands:Rebuy:$400 NL 6Max -- Pink Forest -- need to fix this.Start: 10:05amEnd: 11:16amProfit: $170ish (this may be off. bleh)Hands:Rebuy: $83.4$400 NL 6Max -- Altoona Start: 10:00amEnd: 11:46amProfit: $298.4Hands:Rebuy: I was up 1.2k on this table in like 10 minutes. iggymcfly 0
This is why I quit playing NLHE cash games. I only ever played 6-max, and the variance made me way too prone to tilt (and thus a long run losing player). The variance is just as high for PLO, but for some reason I don't tilt there. (I think because it's hard to stubbornly follow up bluffs with nothing and tell yourself you're making a reasonable "play".)Oh, and I've decided my BR's still a little too short to play 2/4 PLO right now. When you're winning, it looks fine, but then when you lose $650 on a hand that you were never more than about 20% to win outright, and you're not sure if it was even wrong to get your money in (repot called 5 ways to the flop, got the last $400 in on the flop drawing to an open-ender), you see that the variance swings might be a little too much for you.
