I'm sure we've all done this at times, and I am certainly not above doing this, but how do you all feel about Hit & Run Artists - players who come in play super agressive and catch some early cards, earn themselves 50-100% of their buy and then hi-tail it out of there quick?

Do you find yourself actively hating and pursuing them, just hate when it happens but move on quickly, or do you not really care about them one way or the other?

How guilty are you of the same thing?

I don't mind, there's plenty of fish in the sea.

I only care if it's very shorthanded or heads up.

I sometimes appear to be doing it since I don't always have time for more than an orbit or two.

Indifferent. I've found the amounts they grab and run fairly insignificant. From my own perspective, I've often come to a table and doubled up within the first few hands, yet I proceed to donk off much of what I won if I stay, so I'll often bugger off before I lose it. It looks like hit and run, but it's more like duck and cover. Generally, though, I'll stay for at least another orbit or two, as I don't think I'll really learn anything if I only play for a few hands and bugger off.

I don't mind them, I actually look to them as a money making opportunity - usually they sit down with an insufficient bankroll for the game. I have had success against them by making it VERY expensive for them to play , don't let them limp in and raise it up on turn & flop. If my strategy works I get some extra chips / if not they leave - kind of a win win ...


What DOES piss me off is the people I see who come in with a small amount / build it up to a large level and then try to leave and come back to the table with less money. That is totally unacceptable Limit or no limit and I do get on people who I see doing that. Last night I got on one dude and everyone at the table sat out (actually two people stayed in & took $60 from him ) This Ahole who started w $60 at a 3/6 , worked it up to $350 then tried to come back with $60 ... - I asked him nicely to reload with the amount he left with & he yes'd me to death untill we all started to sit out / then he got drained ... so I hope karma takes hold of these folks at some level


You lose some of the etiquette / gamblers code on the internet with the ability to flit from table to table, & I just accept that as part of the game. For better or worse this is one of the things I just won't let go -- - someone takes peoples $ off of the table and then doesn't give them a chance to get it back -

Yeah, I hat ethat too. Most sites I play on prevent it. The minimum buy at a table will be what you left with if you come back too quickly.

A couple of years ago, I went on a hunting trip with a bunch of guys from work. We were in a cinder block cabin, miles from any other structure and playing a lousy $0.05-$0.10-$0.25 game. This one a$$hole I never really liked anyway, after about 3 hours of playing, cashes in half his chips and pockets the money, and continues playing.

I tried telling him how bad that was, even in a casino, but amongst friends and coworkers?

He didn't care, all he said was "I want to make sure I have a profit tonight."

This was on Friday night of a 3-day weekend.

Needless to say, we all made sure he left with a loss!

Funny that I read this just now as I had my first experience with that last night. My boy entered the room, gave me a bad beat, and then abruptly walked. Initially, I started to steam then realized it will happen a lot. As others have mentioned, what goes aorund comes around. AND you can get comfy and flexible at home. Such is the nature of the beast.
