2/4 9 handed WPEX

table is tight as usual, i'm probably lagging it up although i just showed down AA in which i capped preflop.

Folds to hero (MP2) 7 icon_suit_heart.gif 8 icon_suit_heart.gif who raises, BB 3 bets, hero caps, BB calls.

Flop (9 sb)

2 icon_suit_club.gif 7 icon_suit_diamond.gif 9 icon_suit_diamond.gif

BB checks, hero bets, BB calls

TUrn (5.5 bb)

J icon_suit_heart.gif

BB checks, hero bets, BB calls

River (7.5 bb)

7 icon_suit_club.gif

BB checks, hero bets, BB raises, hero raises,

looking for total critique, not just river. am i wrong in thinking a river sexy usually means big strength?

it's hard to convey enough info for us to judge whether PF raise is the right move. i'll give you the benefit of the doubt there.

flop and turn are then fine thereby.

river, well, i dunno. him waking up here makes it really difficult to think we're good here. is the game rock-ish or tricky? if the former, i can't imagine that your 7nokicker is going to take it down, so i probably just call his raise. if the BB can bluff, then your reraise isn't bad either.

If there are two things LHE players like, they are weed and pornography. The third would be kittens. LHE does not appear on the list.

i agree with the last statment especially. I think the table was playing more tight then tricky though.

Isn't a river sexy when you c/r the river after having the lead throughout the hand?

Moving on...

Your cap preflop is fun. Don't know what else to say about it. I don't do it. Not at 2/4. Don't really need to mix up your play that much, IMO. Might be different on WPEX, which I imagine is probably a bit tougher competition at this point.

River, I need a read. I'd love to 3-bet. He could be overplaying his AA, KK, or he could have something like JJ, smoking you. I really doubt he has a 7, then again, I doubt he thinks you have one since you capped PF.

The only hand we fear here is JJ or 99 really. Only 3 combinations of each, so 6 combinations of hands we are behind, plus, I suppose A7s maybe, so we can add 4 more combos. I'd say, unless he's really really LAGging it up in an attempt to counter your LAGging, there isn't much else he'd have that beats us.

He could have AA, KK, QQ here, 6 combos each, 18 combos total that we beat. He could even have AJ, or KJ, another 12 combos each.

I think the chances that we are ahead are a lot better than the chances that we are behind, I 3-bet/call, I think.

In order to 3-bet/call, do we need to be ahead 1/2 or 2/3rd of the time? I can never remember. If it's 1/2, I think we're good, 2/3 is a bit closer, IMO.
