NLHE cash game, blinds 0.25/0.50. I have about $47 sitting in front of me. I'm UTG and get dealt QQ. I raise it to $2.50, 2 callers. One guy sitting with the most money ($160) and the sb with his buy-in ($50). Flop comes 288 rainbow. sb checks, I bet out $5. both call. turn is a 9. I bet $11. chip leader calls, sb folds. River is another 9. I go all in, he calls. Yup, he flips over 9-4. 9-4!!!!!! Arg!!!!

dont think he is so stupid....there could(COULD...but probably not) be a good explanationheres the only way it makes senseput you on either nothing pre/post flop, or is trying to steal the pot of you later, then called the turn because mad you had 66 77....etcbut you still shouldnt of moved allin with two pair on the board, youre only gonna get called if he has a 8 or 9, or possible pocket 2's.....whatever low card was therebut yeah....he was stupid

I completely agree with Eddie here.Yeah, calling pre-flop and the flop with 9-4 was just silly of him.At the turn, though, he likely doesn't put you on the overpair, and figures his top two (Well, top+board) is good. And then at the river, as was already mentioned, what's going to call you there? Quad nines, quad eights, nines full (Which he had), maybe eights full, MAYBE deuces full, probably not pocket kings or pocket aces, and DEFINITELY not anything you have beat.EDIT: Maybe this was the point, and you were gambling that he didn't have anything I listed above. But there's a part of poker that says when you have a board like that, it's probably best not to bet at all, because you're only likely to get called when you're beat.
