Also, Mike Jones may not post in this thread.
A few new albums that I'm listening to are:
1. Cam'ron - Killa Season. Awesome album, a little on the short side, I think only 12 songs or so, but very solid nonetheless.
2. Ice Cube - Laugh Now, Cry Later. I am listening to it for the first time right now. Very good, which was to be expected from 'Cube.
3. Yo Gottie - Back 2 da Basics. Surprisingly good, but not in the same league as the above two.

What do you have on the playlist right now?
Have you heard/did you like T.I.'s new cd?

I've heard the singles on his CD and I really like'em.
I play "what you know" everytime I win a poker tournament because its my "theme song."
I love that joint.

I've heard this name a lot, but never actually checked it out. Is there anybody that you could compare him/them too?

Get The Cold Vein by Cannibal Ox......one of the better underground hip-hop albums of the last few years. If you are looking for more underground hip-hop stuff to check out, let me know.
If you are a fan of west coast b-boy rap, I definitely recommend O.S.T. or Question in the Form of an Answer by People Under the Stairs. They are my favorite hip-hop group (not counting the legendary A Tribe Called Quest)...

I checked out some People Under the Stairs one time...didn't like em too much. I will check out the Cannibal Ox though.
So far this thread is about a -3/10. There isn't anybody who keeps up with the new hip hop releases?
Anybody looking forward to the new Obie Trice cd?
Anyone else heard the new Ice Cube?

Blue Scholars. Seattle hip-hop. Very +EV.
Common Market. Also Seattle hip-hop. Same DJ as Blue Scholars. Also excellent.
Ghostface Killah - Fish Scale. Good album.
The reason this thread is a -3/10 is because MOST current hip-hop is garbage. The stuff that gets played on the radio (at least around here) is TERRIBLE. There is a lot of good stuff though...just have to dig to find it.

I'm quite sure you're talking about Chamillionaire - Ridin
His whole album is very solid. It's called "The Sound of Revenge". You should buy it/download it (depending on your ethics).

I know what you're saying, but I don't totally agree that most current rap is garbage. Granted, there are some mainstream artists who are awful, like any 50 cent or g-unit song after his first album. I like a lot of the new rap that comes out.
I was hoping that there would be more fans of mainstream rap here.
Oh well.

I enjoy some mainstream stuff, I just get frustrated that the current mainstream rap scene is dominated by the Houston chopped & screwed sound (so lame and repetitive, very few, if any, do it well) and this half R&B/half rap stuff that sounds like they're trying to do G-funk, and failing miserably. Nobody in mainstream is really that original. Even Kanye, who I LOVE, isn't that original with his beats...he's just REALLY good at what he chooses to do, beats-wise.

Yeah, the south is dominating the rap game right now. I'm starting to get tired of it as well. If one more lil' _____ pops up I'm gonna go on a shooting rampage.
By half R&B/half rap are you talking about artists such as Chris Brown, Ne-Yo (sp), etc?
Fair enough. We will leave Paul Wall out of this then (thank god).
and by the way, it's "grillz"
I was actually slightly dissapointed, although I think it was over-hyped.
Favourite song exculding "What You Know" ?
Please re-read the OP. You must've missed something.
