Any suggestions on where to sell a used laptop? I've been trying to sell it on e-bay, and it's a ridiculous hassle to do so with the constant bidding from Nigerian scammers. After the last 2 weeks, I'm pretty sure I'll never use e-bay again. Ever.

ha, I don't think that would even cover the fees I've racked up on e-bay.

Keep it. The technology is probably dated at this point.

so true, and it's not so easy removing your personal information off the hard drive. Moving files to the recycle bin and empying it, isn't enough.

Ah, Golden with his usual useless 2 sentence post. Had my question been "should I keep a laptop as a paperweight or sell it for a few hundred bucks?" your answer would have been valid... completely retarded, but still valid.

Stupid me. I forgot that I was giving advice to a wanna-be douchebag. I don't know what you have against me, but save it for the random hooker you'll be paying to urinate on you later on this evening.

umm...anyways...

if I may offer this advice -

Sell it on craigslist. Most likely there's a section for your city already on there, or a local near enough to that it doesn't make it difficult.

Oh yeah, also, format the hard drive...twice.

I had the same thing happen on Ebay. I had to list it 3 times. Each time I emailed Ebay and they waived all those funds.

If you had a Buy it now on there take it off.

Just make sure you delete the porn first....or if you sell it to SuitedUp, just leave it on and tell him where to find it.

How do I format the hard drive, Exactly? I don't know where the original disk is... I can PROBABLY find it, but not sure. Oh, and I just discovered it burns DVDs, lol... and it's an 80GB not 60GB hard drive. Tough to get a good price when I undervalue it, eh?

Yeah, you'd need the CD-ROM to reformat it.

You could always ship it up to me, your friendly neighboorhood forum moderator for a discount, though! wink.gif

And Vonteego <3 GrinderMJ.

and believe it or not... I just discovered, when someone sent me a question through e-bay, that my old laptop can burn DVDs! Glad I spent the extra $$$ on that feature.
