The hand is from a 20 table sng on Stars. My friend has AK of diamonds for GSFD+ over(s).Preflop should be all in. On the flop he should be all in. He made a donk play on every street basically. So we're just going to ignore that for now. To tell you the truth I dont believe there's a chance in hell he had AK of diamonds, but for the sake of argument, let's assume he does.Once he has no fold equity, should he continue with this hand, or give it up? Especially with him likely moving up to at least 3rd place money. Worth noting is the fact that even though Nick4Queens has a significant chip lead, he's been fairly tight, so my friend is definitely beat, and only one of his overs is likely live.

With those blinds and the chip stacks, your friend (he is toddybrun right?) doesn't even have to get involved pre-flop from SB if he wants to ensure at least third place...

I disagree with raising all-in preflop, but a reraise sufficent to take it down say 20,000 if called the flop becomes simple either hit and move in or miss check fold to the almost inevitable bet. For the record I would consider that flop a hit and move in.standaman

Your friend should fold on the turn once he's played the hand like that - He has to take into consideration his pot odds as well as his position in the SNG. 1. He is still 2nd in chips after a fold2. He's getting 2.6-1 on the call - not enough to draw to his NFD plus gut shot plus potential overcard.3. No fold equity if he jams

Agreed. Unless you are playing for 3rd place, you have to jam here and gamble it up. If you just call, you now leave yourself open to a bluff on the turn without a diamond especially (since villian might now put you on a draw).Jam the flop, get some fold equity, and be the aggressor. Although the min-bet before the flop by the the villian screams very good hand.
