Since spelling KidPoker in week #3 Jayboogie has gone on to win three straight games, propelling the Cheap Thieves into sole place of first overall in the division (and conference/league). It's early in the season, but captain KidPoker has to be happy about having an early two game lead in the division, "Absolutely. The goal is to win the division and lock up one of the top four seeds. Once we've accomplished that goal we can start focusing on the best record in the conference. Right now, though, we just take it one game at a time."
So far that mindset has been working perfectly. The spirits on the team are at an all-time high and no one is complaining about playing time. Jayboogie has been a work horse and the Thieves will continue to ride him as long as they can.
"I realize that everyone would like to play," continued KidPoker,"but we have to think about what's best for the team. Right now that means going with the hot hand and giving Jayboogie the start in week #6."
Cfinnn and Waffles2003 have yet to see any action thus far but have been consumate professionals about the situation. Despite being lower on the the depth chart, they are on the bench every Sunday rooting the team on and contributing any way that they can.
"That's what makes our team special," says Waffles2003, "There is no animosity on this team despite the ugly rumors reported in the rag mags about a feud between Boogs and KidPoker. These guys are both competitive and want to win. That's just what we are doing."
The team travels to Cigar Lovers next week in yet another important divisional match-up. The Cigar Lovers look to even their season record at 3-3, while Jayboogie goes for his fourth consecutive win.
