in this razz hand i was dealt ( 3 2 ) 5 a 3 up raised, I re-raised, a 7 three bet and the 3 capped. I called as did the 7. On 4th street the boards looked like this( 3 2 ) 5 6( x x ) 7 7( x x ) 3 2The 3 2 bet out I called and the open 7 7 folded. I thought about raising, but he will just call if he paired 2's and if he had ( A 4 ) or ( A 5 ) it will cost me 2 extra bets when I am a dog in the hand. I hit a king and my opponent catches a 10. He bets and I call getting 7-1 and still drawing live. Now on 6th I catch an A and he gets a 6.( 3 2 ) 5 6 10 A( x x ) 3 2 10 6He bets. I have only been at the table a short time but he has the most money and has been playing fairly tight. Should I call or raise? Unless he paired and is bluffing his only logical hands are ( A 5 ) which is a tie or ( A 4 ) which has me beat.( topic title is meant to be raise or call down )But if i do have the best hand and he either made a loose raise on 3rd or has paired then just calling would be a really big mistake with such a good low.

You're raising here. All he has is 6 high AT MOST right now. There's only one of those hands that beat you, A-2-3-4-6. Don't even factor out (45) either. You're sticking a lot of money in on this hand no matter what, and if you're beat, you're beat.This is quite simply a position where you're either scooping a monster or losing one with the 3rd best hand in razz.

yea the thing is that if i have the best hand it will win me 1 maybe 2 extra bets but if i am beat it will cost me 3 bets.and he seemed good so i dont see how it makes sense to cap on third with anything other than a 4 or 5 low with an ace

still, if he has any six, he's capping it most likely. some donks can still do it with 7-high.not knowing what limits you were at (which, considering the level of play i've witessed at 1/2 and up, doesn't mean a whole lot), i'd still be capping it to the river. i'm almost positive you'll be getting a cap in on 6th with the best hand, and at least a bet and a raise in on the river.you're getting a lot more bets in than you think making this play, and like i said before, seeing as we have the 3rd best razz hand, there's no point of playing it passively here. if we're beat, we're beat. this a +ev situation that you want to be pushing heavily, especially here when we're beat by only one hand.

easy raise, you almost certainly have the best hand, if he reraises then you can reevaluate and still just call down if you think you're beat. What limits was this at?

it was at 2-4this is another one im not sure about. fast forward to 6th street.i have a made A-2-4-6-8 and my opponent is drawing to 2-3-4-5 the dead cards are A, 2, 3, 3, 5, J, K. Does anyone know whos hand is a favourite?

he's drawing to about 2:1 odds to pick up this hand (counting aces, sixes, sevens, and eights as outs for him). you're still the favorite, but it's still a pretty good chance that he'll catch.the only way you can improve that you can almost ensure you beat him if he improves is to catch a three, or a five. if he improves to a hand that beats you, sevens are not outs, because he'll definitely have your 7-low beat if you make it. thus, you're drawing to three outs if he improves (around 9.5:1).
