Want honest opinions of how this hand was played. My table image is TIGHT. Have only shown down 1 or 2 hands in previous 45 mins. I bet on the flop and most players fold. Villain is fairly decent player, imo, hasn't played many hands.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.10 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+1 ($4.95)
MP1 =#A500AF(villain)/ ($5.50)
MP2 ($2.30)
CO ($8.25)
Button ($7.80)
SB ($2)
Hero ($8.50)
UTG ($4.75)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K, K.
UTG calls $0.10, 1 fold, MP1 =#A500AF(villain)/ calls $0.10, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($0.40) 3, 9, T (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.4, UTG folds, villain calls $0.40, SB folds.

Turn: ($1.20) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.65, villain raises to $1.3, Hero calls $0.65.

River: ($3.80) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $3.8, villain calls $3.70 (All-In).

Final Pot: $11.30

Don't flame too hard. Thanks.

He showed JJ which was in the range I had him on. It was a nice pot.

How can we not want to raise preflop or push the turn?

From my perspective w/ my table image anytime I raised pf and bet the flop everyone else folded. I was slowplaying hoping to get paid off. No I wouldn't do this often but I was happy with the way it turned out. Checking the BB opened up to the villain the range of hands I could be playing. W/ the flop I could've checked w/ 10x & he thought his Js were good.

This is just really bad for business. Risk free money is good. Transparent villians are very good. And I'm guessin you just C/F if an ace pop or if 1010 falls. or if the flop comes 678 or three to a flush or QQ or.... sorry, getting a little carried away. Raise preflop. Not even close. Cardinal rule of low limit NL hold'em... put more money in when you think you're ahead, stop when you're behind. The flop complicates this rule. Preflop play is easy... post flop is hard. No need to complicate the alreadycomplicated Post flop play by making a mistake preflop.

Then raise more preflop, not less, and with a wider range of hands. Steal a bunch of pots. Someone eventually plays back. Have nothing? Fold and wait for a good hand and raise again. Have the goods? Sweet - there's your action. Meanwhile, you'll have built your stack up a bit without having to hit any hands.

Checking the BB also opens up to you the range that villain could be playing. You could be betting all along here thinking your KK is good and get cracked by a trashy two-pair. If you're not going to raise/reraise with hands like KK, at least let it be a smooth call of a raise, not a limp. At least then you can narrow villain's hand range somewhat. Here, with a limp, he could literally have anything.

Soooo...you're saying...as kindly as you can...

Mr. Madtrix, never check with KK in the big blind. At no point in this hand did you approach anything resembling well-played poker and everyone in this forum and at the table with you is now dumber for having witnessed it. I award you the title of Supreme Donk. icon_biggrin.gif

Criticism noted and accepted. Hopefully I'll learn from this. Thanks for not completely flaming me.

Slow playing Kings out of position is just sick. You're OOP, you need to get rid of players.
