Check the flop.As you played it, this will be a missed turn c/r quite a bit.I know you're trying to pick off some kind of mid spade draw, but the pot is quite small. If you had checked the flop and turn, then this would be call since villain's c/r hands wouldn't be included in the range. As it is I fold

Provided that we raised preflop, I play it the same untill the river. I fold there. Pot is very tiny. Even if he is bluffing with ace high we are screwed.Btw, not a fan of the raise preflop.

I don't agree with hotbacon and checking this flop. No one has shown any strength yet and unless someone has a PP, 6, high spade, or queen you are in great shape to pick up this pot. However, I agree with folding that river. You are getting only 5-1. You can't even beat too many bluffs. You can only really beat a jack high flush draw with a garbage kicker. You have to let this one go.

Btw, not a fan of the raise preflop.
Really? It seems standard. I raise worse than this too. I basically agree with everyone that the pot was little tiny to be making this river call. FWIW, MHWG so I just wanted to see if this was a play I should be making more often. Villain had J7, and they were red :club: .I'm still not sure about the flop bet. I think it's close.

People will peel with mid and low spades all the time. People will also peel with KJ nonspade hands quite a bit too. There's two people, which significantly ****s things up for us.We're only getting 6:1 on the play, though the price is probably closer to 6.25-1 since bluffing will buy a freecard on the turn sometimes.

With the player that you described in the blinds, I'd rather not get involved with a marginal hand like this. I raise it when both blinds are fairly tight.

Here's some random math on the flop bet.Ok, on the flop you're getting 6-1 on the play. Let's assume the value from the freecard that you rarely buy with this blufff is canceled out by the rake the bet adds.Let's assume both villains have equal calling ranges. This is OK since once we get the actual ranges, it can balance out of one is tighter and one is looser.6-1 = 1/7 ~ .1429So you need P(both fold) = .1429.1429 = X^2X = .378So in order for this to be profitable, each player must fold 37.8% or more of their range.I doubt this is true, since they're calling with probably any pair or spade, and also AJo type hands. I'm too lazy to do the math though.

My thoughts:Preflop: I open raise this from the button almost always.Unless my image is too loose, I try to steal the blinds or gain enough fold equity to steal the pot later.Flop:Not a good flop. There are too many opponents who will call with 1 weak spade. If I bet and get called by both, I am done with this hand.If I think I can get it heads up, I may bet.If I check down this flop, I am pretty much giving up.Turn:No need to bet.River:My original intention here would probably bet to bet a passive flop in hopes of getting the :club: to fold. But when he bets first, there is not much left to do.He certainly may be bluffing his missed draw. But we can't even beat all bluffs.Without a real good read, I fold this.--cm
