Not a move I make a lot, but I figured the ace was representable and I was trying to fold out a better king or a small pair on the river. Little did I know that I was value-betting. AlphaOmega 0
You might be able to bet the turn if he's passivish or if he peels flop folds turn a lot. As long as he doesn't check/raise a lot.Given how you played it, a river bet is good. You've been checked to twice, a pretty big scare card has come, and you have good odds to bluff (value bet?) MasterLJ 0
To be honest I think it's an awesome call from the villain, although he probably should have raised. He made the correct read but the incorrect play.

I felt there was a 33% chance of that. If I were holding KQ or KJ, I would've been much more likely to check. K9 is starting to get down the scale with showdown value though. As for not betting the river as opposed to the turn in this spot, I think it's normally pretty transparent...so it's a super rare line for me. JacKingOff_suit 0
I am trying to learn LHE now. lol. Just reading the HH, I felt like that regardless of what I had, if I were your villain I would had automatically bet on the river no matter what card came on the river because of your check on the turn. Was this a good bet? Would you have called?

It would've been very +EV for villain to bet this on the river. I would've had a hard time calling. Like I said, I'm usually betting the turn in this situation in order to get a free showdown if I choose. If I'm in villain's shoes on this river, I think I'd have to bet/fold or check/fold.This hand actually makes reference to something that seems to be pretty different in LHE versus NLHE. In LHE, it seems more often correct to fire the second bullet (on the turn). In NLHE, there are plenty of times where it's appropriate, but the risk/reward ratio isn't nearly the same. greatwhite 0
I really hate this river bet. Not too many hands will fold that beat you and I think even the biggest donks will call you with a better hand more often then not.

What are 44 & 22 calling the flop for? They should have either raised somewhere or folded by now.I really hate this river bet.
