i was thinking the same thing tonite while playing. most hands were being played heads-up via the isolation raise and i saw a few people use it.i might just try it.

wrto,I don't understand why you check/raised the flop and then checked the turn. Seems inconsistent. I would have just check/called the flop and turn.Given how you played it, I am very tempted to check/raise this river.

Have you ever heard the expression, "**** on them before they **** on you"? The LRR gets no respect, so im getting played back at on this board especially. Check/raising paired boards gets folks to fold for one small bet incorrectly plus it sets me up to play my hand kind of aggressively, even though im OOP, and i never get moved off of the best hand. Not one hand I could think of would 3-bet that flop. They all wait for the turn to either raise or fold. There's no way im bet/folding the turn in this hand.what do you think?

Well what hands are you trying to fold incorrectly? I don't think you ever get a fold from Ax here. And the only Jx hand that can fold incorrectly is KJ. While the two and three out hands may be getting close odds to peel on this flop, if they plan on calling the turn too, you win a lot more by letting them stay in. I see your flop check/raise folding a lot of hands that you don't want to fold. Plus CO capped the flop, which increases the chances he has an ace. It's a creative idea, but would probably work a lot better with a hand like TT.Not one hand I could think of would 3-bet that flop. They all wait for the turn to either raise or fold. There's no way im bet/folding the turn in this hand.You don't get moved off the best hand by check/calling either. And when you take this line, you usually end up putting in more money when behidn (because he will bet the turn) and less when ahead (he will usually check in sensing you are up to trickery).

noone capped the flop.anyway, the pots already almost 15sb after someone bets. 88 can call profitably...The pots big and im ready to win it. My hand is still good enough to get a little aggressive, but i dont feel like doubling the pot size yet.Checking and calling i do get pushed off of the best hand *sometimes*. Anytime Button feels like isolating the 4 bettor preflop im forced to pay 2 bets. I can get moved off of the best hand pretty easily.I think betting the flop is better than check/calling for sure. But ive been trying to cut out the check/call a little and ive also just starting LRRing so im new to ideas postflop.

I meant preflop. I don't think there is anything wrong with your preflop play. I just think that your postflop play is no good. You say that 88 has the odds to call and spike a set. Fine. But check/raising doesn't deny him the odds. All it does is get him to put in 2 sbs on the flop with a hand that doesn't warrant it. That's good for you if:1) You have the best hand2) He would have folded the turn UI if you check/called
