Rocketwadster 0
Table full of donkeys, myself included (my losses at this darned game keep mounting - if I never played Razz on FTP, I would have almost doubled my latest deposit, meaning that I am running very good right now on all cylinders except Razz...)FullTiltPoker Game #639416311: Table Banburry Cross - $0.25/$0.50 Ante $0.05 - Limit Razz - 15:26:49 ET - 2006/05/15Seat 1: TR ($4.25)Seat 2: Eb ($5.05)Seat 3: Rocketwadster ($10.75)Seat 4: ro ($3)Seat 5: St ($16.60)Seat 6: Ja ($13.45)Seat 7: ba ($4.25)Seat 8: Mu ($2.95)Everyone antees*** 3RD STREET ***Dealt to TR [7h]Dealt to Eb [Kc]Dealt to Rocketwadster [Ac 4c] [5c]Dealt to ro [As]Dealt to St [Js]Dealt to Ja [8s]Dealt to ba [4h]Dealt to Mu [2h]Eb is high with [Kc]Eb brings in for $0.10Rocketwadster completes it to $0.25ro calls $0.25St foldsJa foldsba foldsMu calls $0.25TR foldsEb folds*** 4TH STREET ***Dealt to Rocketwadster [Ac 4c 5c] [Th]Dealt to ro [As] [5s]Dealt to Mu [2h] [Jd]ro bets $0.25Mu foldsRocketwadster calls $0.25Is that call okay? dingas 0
I don't understand why you would just call on 5th. You have the best hand and almost certainly the best draw. Even if your opponent has exactly 2 and 3 in the hole, you are a slight favourite and since he didn't raise third, he probably has a worse hand, making you a fairly nice favourite. Your opponent made a mistake by betting, and you need to punish him!I think the call on 6th is totally obvious. As for 7th, I generally call in such situations (you said it's a table full of weak players), but maybe this is not correct.

Weak tables means you may actually have the chance at beating someone.I actually bet 5th, but a check/raise isn't too bad here either. A check/call is pretty bad.You have to make him pay for 6th. Don't let him make you make the decision to continue on when HE is the one that paired.
Naked_Cowboy 0
Preface: I'm not out to get you, I'm out to improve your, my, and every FCPer possible's razz game by attempting to foster debate and/or discussion. If you disagree with anything I write, please call me on it.The check call is very bad; bet is best, check raise is second best but against a weak player isn't sending the same message to someone who knows what they're doing. To your opponent, it looks like you paired by the check call and you put yourself into a situation on 7th where you don't know where you stand. He could be betting:a. with what he considers the best hand because you've played like you have at least 1 pair and were at a king low drawing to a 10 low. In this case he may be as bad as a jack low because you've played the hand so weakly.b. knowing he's beat, but hoping you'll lay down a very rough low based on his board.Moral of the story: don't try and get that tricky playing razz, especially at the low limits. When you are clearly ahead, bet or raise. Sklansky gets into a few situations where tricky play *can* work against good players or 4th and 5th in sklansky on razz, but you need to work on nailing down a few more base aspects of the game before hitting that.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/188068506...5Fencoding=UTF8I hope the link works, but that is absolutely worth the money if you want to stop pulling your hair out about razz. Also, I try and play micro or low razz, or razz SnGs on FTP most days as anakedcowboy. Give me a shout if you're at my table.
