TheCinciKid 0
Villain is 25/18/1.6 - 260 handsI'd been 3-tabling, but after dropping quite a bit over the past few sessions I dropped down to 2 tables to work on my blind play and try to fix some leaks. This hand got me to thinking. Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is SB with J, 7. 4 folds, Hero raises, BB calls.Flop: (4 SB) A, 7, 5(2 players)Hero bets, BB calls.Turn: (3 BB) 2(2 players)Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls.River: (7 BB) 8(2 players)Hero checks, BB bets, Hero folds.Final Pot: 8 BBIf the villain is playing straight-forward I think my line is fine. I peel the turn getting 6-1 immediate and hoping to pick up a bet if I hit my 5-outer. River is an easy fold figuring he has an Ace. However, I'm thinking villain may very likely be capable of putting a move on me based on his stats and I'm wondering if my line is too weak/tight here.
hotbacon 0
I think you really need to fold this pf.You should play pretty tight from the SB when BB is TAG, especially at 3/6.I would check the turn. A TAG will bet anything if you check here so you're not missing value, and you'd never get raised.Calling the turn may be good here, but not for solely the intention of picking up a bet UI. It may be ok here because villain will often raise the turn for a free SD, so he'll often just check behind the river with stuff you beat (and if he was on a stone cold bluff, he's almost certainly not bluffing the river again after you call on a dry board). This is assuming he thinks, of course.I dunno, you're in a really tough spot here once he raises. I really wish you c/c'd . If he's agressive enough to raise with something that you beat, he's agressive enough to bet *anything* if you check to him./shrug I probably call down. I dunno though, I have problems with these spots as well (which is one reason why I'm starting to check turns OOP vs aggro people a lot more).
AlphaOmega 0
I would call the river given the line you took. If you suspect that he's floating you, then it's even more important that you show down.I would also suggest tightening your stealing standards against good players. There aren't too many things that suck more than being OOP with a marginal hand against a strong player. Against a weak player, or one with a low VP$IP, then you can loosen up your standards.I think you can improve upon your line as well. I tend to get hesitant towards betting into a villain that just calls a pretty dry flop like this one, I may be results oriented though. You might be able to check/raise the turn (Almost nobody takes free cards in blind battles), or check/call turn check/call river and show your hand down, possibly catch bluffs, etc.If you develop habits of check/raising or raising turns, it also makes you very difficult to play against. It forces your opponents to adjust by giving you free cards, and playing a lot more passively against you.

WestcoastCanuck 0
Alpha and Bacon both have good analysis here.Against aggressive opponents, I always check this turn.Remember, consistently putting money in OOP with a cheesey hand sucks. Especially against LAGs.

Steppin Razor 0
I like check raising the turn. A TAG would fold anything but an Ace w/a good kicker to that.As for the starting hand, you're bluffing a TAG. What's wrong with that? You just have to be a little more sophisticated than against a shmuck.
