Aright, this is kinda for only online poker, since most online poker plays with 1500 as the opening amount for every player. I came up with a decent-to-good way of keeping yourself comfortable with your chip stack. However, I think it gets a bit out there after the blinds increase enough.I will just list the first 8 blind changes and suchStarting 1500 blinds 10/20Level II 2250 Blinds 15/30Level III 3750 blinds 25/50Level VI 7500 blinds 50/100Level V 11250 blinds 75/150Level VI 15000 blinds 100/200Level VII 16875 blinds 100/200 ante 25Level VIII 31875 blinds 200/400 ante 25My formula was taking the original 1500 and dividing it by the big blind, which was 20.I got a total of 75Then, I just multiplied each big blind by 75 to get the numbers to be comfortable with. When antes came in, I added it into the big blind, since you give them up. I think my formula is flawed ALOT, so if anyone has a correction to make to it, please say it. I would really like to finish my list.

No matter how much you put into a pot for bluffing, you can't beat a good hand.

yes, it's a little flawed.you start with 75 big blinds, but it's almost impossible to sustain 75 big blinds throughout the entire tournament. it's fundamentally inevitable that the number of big blinds you have in your stack lowers as the tournament progresses--that's the nature of escalating blinds.in the WSOP, players start with T10,000 and blinds are T25/50, giving everyone 200 big blinds to start. however, the very next level is T50/100, and it's definitely not expected of everyone to have worked their stack up to T20,000 in the first hour to still have 200 big blinds.as for antes, i don't think simply adding them to the blinds is a good idea. think of it in terms of rounds instead. if the blinds are 10/20, each round costs you 30 chips. if the blinds 100/200 with a 25 ante, each round (assuming it's a full table of 10 people, is this a valid assumption?) will cost you 300 + 250 = 550. subtract the small blind and you have 450 chips, which is double the 200 chips. this still isn't really scientific, but i can't really think of another way to take antes into account.that said, i don't think you should follow any sort of chart or formula to keep your stack level. the best way to do it is to just be at or above the average stack. if the average stack is 100 big blinds, that's where you should be, and if it's 20 big blinds, that's where you should be (or higher).aseem

I always try to be at double chips at the first break. (3K usually)When that happens I have a good chance of making the money.
