I know this has been discussed before and the comments about if they are profitable and such. But I am just wondering if anyone else plays them on Prima. I play them now about 5 hours a night. I mainly just stock pile my entry chips. I played round 1 for 5.50 and won my entry to round 2 which I won. Then played round 3 which I got within top 4 that moves on to round 4. But instead of playing round 4 for the 275.00 entry chip, I play round 3 again for 112.50 entry chip and have 162.50 left in enty chips. If I get in the top 4 in round 3 again, I will play round 4 for the 275.00 entry chips and still ahve 162.50 left in case I dont move one. Keeping an round 3 to play and 2 round 2's. If I get in the top 5 on the round 4, I get a chip for 550.00. But instead of playing the round 5 for 550.00, I play round 4 again for 275.00 leaving me with 437.5 in entry chips left. I keep doing this because even though the players are better at round 3 and 4, you only have to get in the top 4 and 5 in them to move on. If you are always leaving enty chips left, then you never have to use your own cash. I dont know if I explained this very well, but it has been great. I have not used any more cash playing these than about 25.00 and I have about 550.00 in enty chips left right now. I have got 4th once in round 5 and 6th the other time. But I dont play in round 5 until I have 1100 in chips. My theory is if I am not putting any more money into this, and can play round 5's and not have to start back over, then the numbers that have been put together before are a little different. Granted, I am only up about 470.00 since my 4th in round 5 only got me 500.00, but I have only been doing this for a week. I know playing all the way through is a big risk becasue once you lose your done, but if you always have chips backing you up, then you are good. I would also like to know if anyone else plays these a lot so I can get your screen name. It is always nice to know when your playing a fellow Fullcontact member.

nice job, cody, that sounds awesome. i played round 1 once and busted 4th, and i haven't played any since, but reading your post, i'm going to give it another try. it seems to me like round 1 is the hardest (since you have to get into the top 2) and round 2 is also quite difficult. how did you get past these humps?i especially don't like the structure too much. if i remember correctly, the blinds doubled every 10 hands or 10 minutes or something. when it became short-handed (5 people), the blinds were so high and i was left shortstacked. i then had to get very aggressive to build up my chips, and this led to my bust 4-handed when i got caught in a trap.any advice?thanks,aseemp.s. my name on prima is akishore, what's yours?

Aseem, Yes, round 1 and 2 are kinda tough because of the maniacs and having to get 1st or 2nd to move on. But it isnt that hard. I would say I am 40% in round 1. The key is to get to round 3. 3 and 4 are (I wouldnt say easy) but you only have to get in the top 5. It takes a different mentality but once you get used to it, it is not that bad. Once you get a round 3 won you should be set for awhile if you do what I did. Look at it this way and you can PM me if you like and I can explain better. Once you get 4th or better in round 3 you have an entry chip worth 275.00. So instead of playing a round 4 and risking losing it all in one shot, I play round 3 again. If I get top 4 again, I get another 275.00 chip plus I have 162.50 left because I only used 112.5 (the round 3 entry fee) and had that left over. The nice thing is if you get some bad beat or sucked out you still have that 162.50 left to play another round 3 and 2 round 2's. ONce you get that first round 3 won, you shouldnt have to pay any more of the 5.50 for round again for a long time as long as you keep leaving yourself chips. My main thing is getting at least 2 round 4 entry chips and at least 1 round 3 worth of chips. That comes to 662.50 Then I can play a round 2 and know that I have plenty of room to work with. Then if I win my first one I get a 550.00 chip and still have 387.5 left from before so I have 937.5 in entry chips. So I play 1 more round 4 and if I get top 5 again, then I will have 1212.50 in entry chips. Once I have around this much I might play a round 5 and try to win some money 1st- 3000, 2nd - 1200, 3rd - 800, 4th - 500. That way if I dont get one of these spots, I still have 662.50 left in chips which is plenty to play some round 4 or 3's. I know what a lot of people are going to say, you cant move on every time. But that is why you always play with plenty of entry chips left, and getting in the top 5 in sng's is not that hard if you dont take any bad beats. And your not putting any more on your own cash after you get there. The structure is start with 1500 chips. Blinds go up every 10 minutes. It is kinda fast, but at least you start with 1500 chips. I saw a guy get disconnected in round 4 after the first hand and made it in the top 5 for the entry chip. Like I said, PM me with any more questions.Cody

cody, i really have to thank you. your post is brilliant and great, and really inspired me to give the rounders thing one more try.i was bored late at night tonight (being 5am) and had an extra $5.50 in my bankroll after playing some short-handed limit O8 to pass away the time, and i then realized, "perfect! one free rounders level 1 tourney, let's do it."i blew into 3rd place with a big chip lead and was able to just sit there while the other two guys duked it out, and got the T27.50 chip.instead of doing round 2, i figured i could take your advice one step further and try round 1 again. i didn't realize that the tourney chips can't be used in round 1, so i actually just bought another $5.50, but hey, no big deal. after a scary medium-handed period of time where i was the shortstack on the table and not getting any cards in a very tight-aggressive game, i managed to rescue myself out of that and blew into 3rd with a big chip lead again! and again, i just sat there and played only the best hands while the other two stacks duked it out, and again, i got the T27.50 chip.so now i have T55 in rounders chips, and i figure i'll either give round 2 a try tomorrow (when i'm actually not tired and somewhat aware of my environment) or i'll even do round 1 a couple more times just to build up some rounders chips.so really, thanks very much for your post, it really gave me the motivation to try again. i really hope i'll be able to work my way up to level 5 with backup chips and cash a good amount to my bankroll. this might even have some long-term prospects to both earn money and improve my SNG game.thanks again, aseem

I played 4 round 4's last night and got top 5 in all of them to start off the night. Had my enty chip bankroll up to 1650.00 Played 2 round 5's thought and got 5th and 6th. I am not at about 750. again. after playing some 4's and 3's moving on is some and not in others. Since I have 750. I will play a round 4 to start off tonight. I need to get it back up to around 1100 to play a round 5 again. I need the cash so I have to play a round 5 before I usually want to. Once you get out of round 2 and 1, you will love it Aseem. It is not guaranteed everytime like I said, but only having to get in the top 4 or 5 is great. Takes a lot of pressure off of you sometimes when you can double up early and then just sit back. If you get 1st or 2nd in a round 2, that should put you around 137.50. If you feel confident, I would go ahead and play the round 3 because you only have to get in top 4 to get the 275.00 entry chip. But playing some more round 2's might not be bad either. I just have noticed that playing round 3's to be less difficult if you dont take a really bad beat or the cards arent completely cold for a long time. Then once you get that 275.00 chip, you can play round 3's for awhile and really start stocking up.
