Another Ottawa game, another bad reffing job. 2 goals by Buffalo came after a penalty should have been called, 1 which sent the game into overtime and 1 obvious penalty shot not called. I'm not even an Ottawa fan but I do feel bad for them.

There were a lot of calls that should have been made against Ottawa that weren't also, the whistle goes both ways.

It was a fantastic game and if both teams could have won they both deserved to. I think by the time this is over it will be one of the most memorable playoff series' ever.

that's one of the problems with flopping and diving at any opportunity. eventually the refs don't call an actual penalty.

the hit on alfredsson at the end of the third was a perfect example. the guy had plenty of opportunity to move the puck, and probably score, but instead he holds up the puck, and flops to the ice as soon as someone hits him.

i think the refs were the least of ottawa's problems that game. the goaltending was very poor and the defense downright horrible.

Defence was terrible but I think Emery was left out to dry except for the last goal which was his fault. Entertaining game and there might have been a few no calls in Ottawas favour but I didn't notice any that led to a goal let alone 2 which makes a huge difference. I do think Ottawa outplayed Buffalo and deserved to win. Hoepfully it remains entertaining with no controversy.

agreed of course.
if this is what the playoffs are going to look like, then i'd prefer if they just left the shootout in, so people can't even pretend this is real hockey.

I don't really see much that either teams D or goaltending could have done to stop that onslaught, the two fastest, most exciting offensive teams in the league facing off is bound to run up the score.

Obviously Emery will keep starting, but I think Miller will too. He was brilliant when it was possible to make the save, almost every goal against there was just nothing he could have done.

neither goalie was particularly good, and even decent positioning or puckhandling would've stopped 2-3 goals each.

and the defense was downright horrible. yes, the players are fast and skilled, but no one wanted to hit or take the body. no one was careful with the puck. every defenseman was just trying to get the puck ASAP, or push the puck up-ice as quick as they could. thats not how to play defense.
chara and redden especially were uncharacteristically horrible.

I really don't think the goaltending was that bad. Chara and Redden were ok, it was Mezaros for Ottawa that stunk the most I thought.

When a team consistently gets chances in which the opposition's goalie has no chance it means that the opposition's defense is stinking up the joint. The defensive coverage for both teams is atrocious.

Well, there you go Sens fans. An entire game worth of blown calls in the Sens favor, and the Sabres still win it 2-1 on Miller's amazing game.

2 games to none going back to Buffalo baby!

I don't really complain to much about the calls for or against Buffalo. I don't believe the refs care who wins a series. I am seen good calls go for and against and I have seen bad calls go for and against. But Ottawa did have there chance on the PP 0 - 7. Nice to See Miller Step up after a tough game 1. Going to Game 4 thrusday night. SWEEP!!! hopefully.

Clearly the Sens are in a bad place but they have to feel pretty good about outplaying Buffalo in game 2. The D just needs to sit back, not give the puck to Hecht for a breakaway and let their massive talent up front get them a win. I'm betting on the Sens for the series with the line at +220.

if Ottawa loses, this has got to be one of the all-time great chokejobs. Buffalo is a good team and all, but with Dallas and Detroit gone, Ottawa was a huge favourite to win it all.
As a Leafs fan, I am revelling in the Senators and their choketasticness.

[insert leafs suck joke]

Each Buffalo game I watch I like them more and more. Being in Detroit I only really get to watch Canadian hockey and the Wings vs West coast teams so I didn't get to see much of them this year but I might be converted back to being a Sabres fan. Used to be a few years ago. My favorite player is Miro Satan and I would watch any Buffalo game I could. But yeah, this team is fun to watch. And Miller is playing great and he is a hometown hero since his was a Spartan. Seen him play in the GLI.

Steve,

It doesn't matter who you start because you have a horse shoe up your ass so far I'm not really sure how you get through the day. You must be gay.

One more game and the Sabres will take the Cup. Carolina can't beat them, and no one from the West can beat them.

Do you disagree that with Ottawa and New Jersey gone, the deck will be overwhelmingly stacked in Buffalo's favor? The only team left in the playoffs that can beat Buffalo (assuming that they are able to close out Ottawa) is Buffalo.
