I won a Sit n Go yesterday for the first time. Admittedly, I got a huge rush of cards and just rode it. So far I have played five, 2 losses, 3rd twice, 1st once. I am tired of grinding at limit tables and I needed something more interesting. So, has anyone else had good success with SnG's? I dont have much time for MTT's so the SnG format is good for me. I think I might continue with them. Anyone have good success in SnG play? Any advice?

I'm like you, sick & tired of playing "no fold 'em" at low limits, consequently, i've been playin' a lot of sit 'n go's myself. i've found that basic, tight aggressive works in the beginning rounds. fold marginal hands when in poor position, try to see the flop cheap otherwise...one interesting thing i've found at low buy-in s&g's is that a lot of people don't know the bet SIZES...if the BB is $25 they raise $25...i make one of $100 or so...i guess what i'm tryin' to say is when you think you have the best hand, bet the hell out of it!! i run into a lot of "calling stations" the way i figure is if they suck out on you, make 'em pay to get there...best of luck...most of the poker websites have more detailed information, just surf around... 8) :bubblerocknroll:

I generally like to play 20 man SnG and play tight-aggressive till there are about 7-8 left, then become more aggressive

My last 5 have been 4th, 1st, 4th, 4th, 1st....which looks like it sums up how I have been playing them. Conservative up until crunch time and then hope to get a good hand or two before it's too late

I love S&Gs and I've done fairly well with them. I would say that I've cashed in about 75% of the ones that I've played in. Not much luck in the MTT, usually get beat on a really bad beat by someone betting trash and then catching a double runner or just that darn ole river, especially at River Stars.

Most of my online play is SNG's. Alot of players will say that cash games are a better rate of return. They might be right, but SNG's are so much more fun.The $5-20 level on Stars are easy games. I've cashed about 45% this year, but my win rate is 40% whe I make the top 3, so I'm up about $150 for the year.I'm going to play a couple of WSOP Double Shootouts when I get $300 above my deposit. Or I might just deposit another $150 and do it  Erik

S'n'G's are by far the easiest way to make money, they just bore the crap out of me. It's all to easy to make the money playing on autopilot. I try and take down a couple of $100 ones a day and then play something with a bit more of a challenge. If I play to many, I have a tendency to continue playing straight forward in the ring games and missing to many opportunities at taking down big pots.

I don't have a strategy, I just play straight forward, no frills poker. The Party structure doesn't allow for any fancy plays so don't try it. Play only premium hands bet hard and let the other guys knock each other out. Once you get near the bubble loosen up and steal lots of blinds until you have a comfortable stack size . It's really that easy, too many players worry about not making the money and lay down hands they should be calling. Once inside the money aggression rules again. This method gets me in the money around 75% of the time but, as I say, it's very dull.If you are stealing I find it better to do it with low cards, 6-7, 8-6, 4-5. That way if you get called and find you are pot commited, the chances are you're not dominated.
I had a new system. Each new system brought me closer and closer to wealth. It was simply a matter of time.
